So basically, this is like a THF or RNG "update."

Take the most marginal or useless things COR had and just make them slightly less so, but not really any more useful than before.

What I like is that Gallant's Roll isn't just PHYSICAL DAMAGE reduction. In fact... it doesn't specify anything at all. 30% Over-all DR on an 11? Yes Please!

It's a phalanx effect, not PDT or MDT.

I wouldn't even say that. On the whole, these changes mostly suck. Increased cure potency? Who cares? Oh be still my beating heart, -4 to +12 HP regen... or maybe someone can just spare a few MP and toss a Regen spell at people who might actually be hurt.

Healer's Roll at least had "some" use if you had a lot of downtime coming (i.e. party wipe). The rest of them will get used just as much as they do now, which is basically never.

Yeah now that Ygg updated it, why even change Healers? Healing potency is a nice gimmick, but never as important as hHP or hMP when it comes to buffing a PT. Healers had utility for downtime at least.

And unless thats a typo, did they really just switch the names of Drachen and Puppet Rolls to "update" them?

It's even worse than cure potency. It's potency of cures received.

Who takes damage and needs healing? DDs
What do DDs want? DD rolls

Why on earth would anyone ever use the new healer's roll? What the fuck is SE smoking?

                          Re: [dev1069] Corsair Job Adjustments

The real problem with the Healer's Roll change is that its taking away something that was decent for mages and turning it into something that is useless for everyone. Even with the Abyssea buffs out there, mages seldom get buffs exclusive to their needs. A +hMP buff was something at least. Not the greatest thing ever, but it had a use and a purpose.

The pet buffs are an interesting niche, but they're so rarely used unless you literally have a pet PT. And for it to have any benefit at all, you need pet users that can sit still - which means summoners. What are the most beneficial rolls to summoners? Evoker's Roll and Healer's Roll.

And I'm being generous with the ideas that SMNs actually sit still. Its more like they, BLUs and BLMs come find you when they need you. WHM and SCH sit still. RDM.... fuck 'em if they walk into the melee side - they think they just need their own buffs.

Well, at least they finally fixed PUP & DRG rolls so they make sense - wtf did the wyvern ever need MAB for? BST roll is actually pretty nasty now as well...

Too bad they left some of more critical rolls untouched. How about changing Monk's Roll to +Haste already so COR can actually compete with BRD? That, or crank up the subtle blow sufficiently to make it worth using.

Magus Roll is still garbage. Warlock & Dancer's are marginally better... Gallant is too weak, as the way I'm reading that it looks like flat damage reduction, not % (I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it) which of course, big f'ing deal getting a max of -35 damage taken when NMs can hit for 300+ easily. Also Ygg you should fix your post, it does NOT say % on the official site).

SAM & DRK rolls are just fine, they're still quite strong. Wizard's, Rogue's & Fighter's Rolls all could have used a major boost though. Even with a WAR or a THF in the party, those rolls are terribly weak (even more so in abyssea) and Wizard's, while nice, really just doesn't add much bang. Maybe if they changed it to a % buff instead then it'd be great.

Ninja's roll could also do with a fair boosting.

They've confirmed it on the OF, Gallant Roll works like a phalanx effect and not a DT %. It does stack with Phalanx, but I still don't see it having anything other than niche use.

Mal's right on the money, shit needs more scaling and less flat values that were designed poorly at 75.
