I think Ultimate Pay accepts PayPal, or at least that's what I've read.

Personally I plan to ignore this until August when people have figured it out.

Apparently it's a shady company that's screwed over people who used it to pay for other MMOs like LoTR:O.

Also they want phone numbers and documentation of credit card ownership faxed to them, plus there are extra service fees if you're dealing in currency other than US Dollars. Or at least that's what I've been led to believe from browsing the other forums today.

I still don't see why they won't just accept credit cards and PayPal directly like every other reputable online business does.

Not only that but they charge interest for transferring money to your account. Not paying an extra $3 per month for XI, fuck that.

I'm just going to use the Crysta option, though I'm not happy about it. On the other hand, that way I don't have to register for anything. I can just load my account with a couple of months-worth of Crysta.

Still, this is a frustrating turn of events. SE sure does like to make it difficult for people to pay to play their game.

At least with the Ultimate play I can pay through Paypal which is fine by me, they're very secure.

Click & Buy can eat shit.

Can anyone translate it? Everyone's saying that the JP community will be able to just keep paying with a credit card directly while everyone else has to jump through hoops, but hell if I know what it actually says.

I read that it says that the JP can buy exact amounts of crysta, but I don't know if that's actually true as I can't read Japanese.

I signed up for Click and Buy and it was simple. I read through the information provided intentionally seeking hidden fees/interest and could find none. At the end I saw that I would be charged $15.99 for 1 acct + 3 mules... seems accurate to me. I am in the U.S. and maybe there's additional crap for other countries. Not sure about that... I'll be keeping an eye on my statements to see if more is taken out than the $15.99 specified in the transfer process.

I've been reading on Alla that C&B can actually trigger flags with your credit card company. People have actually been called up by their credit card company and warned that C&B is... not exactly their idea of a good company.

So I plan to go with PP/crysta, at least for the first couple of months. (1 main + 2 mules = good multiple for crysta.) I don't remember if PP takes my Discover card, but that would be a serious win for me since I hardly use my Visa for anything but FFXI and domain name renewals.
