A Special Gift for Abyssea Trilogy Purchasers! (04/28/2011)

To commemorate the conclusion of the Abyssea series of battle add-ons, we are proud to introduce a special in-game gift for players who have purchased the entire trilogy. All characters under a single account registered for all three Abyssea installments will be eligible to receive the "Prishe Statue," a furnishing featuring the spirited Tavnazian heroine. Owners of the FINAL FANTASY XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition—scheduled for release on May 16—can also rejoice, as the gift will be available to them as well!

Following the release of the next version update, eligible characters may collect their Prische's Statue from the treasure coffer located near NPC "Joachim" in Port Jeuno.

Seriously though while this is pretty sweet, I was expecting something more practical... they gave us the nexus cape for the 1st 3 add ons, and now we get a useless (however cool it is) furnishing?

Unless it has some epic, hidden unique moghancement that applies only inside abyssea I'm actually rather disappointed. I mean shit, if I wanna go look at prishe I can just head to qufim

1.) Stop creeping me out, folks.

2.) This is nice and all, but I don't decorate my mog house, because furniture takes up moghouse space, and I don't hang out in my home nation so I don't benefit from storage. Sad face.

3.) The "something practical" you got for purchasing Abyssea expansions was the Abyssea expansions.

After the next version update, you will likely find yourself hanging out in your home nation more: with the addition of Abyssea teleport NPCs in the starter cities, not to mention the Outpost Warp NPC and global Auction House, it'll be far more practical being in a starter city than in Jeuno. Plus, if done correctly, storage can be a net gain on total space (it's not a 1:1 trade of safe to storage), and there's nothing stopping you from using storage as a long-term/seldom use inventory, like I use my locker (I only unlock it if I need something out of it, and otherwise let it expire).

Plus, they never said it was practical. Even the Nexus Cape has so many limitations it's not really all that practical.

I know how storage works.

But yes, I'll be far more likely to use my home nation once I can access the AH there, and can more readily travel around from it. It'll be nice to see folks running around the cities more often.
