    Read on for the details!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The February mini-update promises to relieve item-related stress for adventurers, with the opportunity to reacquire the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission reward items, an expansion of the Porter Moogle storage system, and more!

    Aht Urhgan Rings Made Reobtainable

    After the February update, players will be able to reobtain the following reward items from the Treasures of Aht Urhgan mission scenario:

    Balrahn's Ring / Ulthalam's Ring / Jalzahn's Ring

    To reacquire the reward, speak with the NPC Nadeey at Walahra Temple in Aht Urhgan Whitegate without any of the above items in your ownership.
    *Should you discard the reacquired item, the event timer will reset with the next conquest tally.

    Porter Moogle Service to Expand

    With the February update, the items listed below will become storable with the Porter Moogle NPC. Players can expect yet more additions to be made to this service in future updates.

    [Moogle Storage Slip 04]
    Razor Axe / Barbaroi Axe / Marauder's Knife / Raven Scythe / Fencing Degen / Peregrine / Sniping Bow / Blessed Hammer / Casting Wand / Beat Cesti / Kukulcan's Staff / Honor Sword / Immortal's Scimitar / Anju / Zushio / Magoroku / Turbo Animator / Trump Gun / War Hoop

    [Moogle Storage Slip 11]
    Gold Moogle Belt / Silver Moogle Belt / Bronze Moogle Belt / Red Sash / Dash Sash / Happy Egg / Fortune Egg / Orphic Egg

    Furthermore, so as to prevent unintended cancellation of Magian trials, the porter service will no longer handle items involved in ongoing trials.

    Pet Food Eta for All

    The materials required to synthesize Pet Food Eta will be adjusted to make this item more readily available to adventurers.

    New Low Price for Instant Retrace

    The December update lowered costs for Instant Reraise and Instant Warp scrolls. The February mini-update will usher in a similar price reduction for Instant Retrace scrolls, from 500 Allied Notes to 10.

    Too bad I already tossed them

    This is a good change. I had to farm up an additional 8 seals yesterday because the crate took the seals that I had, showed that I had completed the objective, but the moogle wouldn't complete the upgrade... The porter moogle had wiped the trial from my armor

      I don't understand why they ever would have in the first place. Very good change, just should never have needed the change to begin with.

        The increase of xp in NON-Abyssea related areas is a BIG WIN, because for those who still play the game the old-school way and level up in the old zones, as well as those who need to level subjobs or those who want to level old jobs that they never had the chance too, can now do so in style and solo WAY better than before, because finding a party in NONABY zones is a huge and complete headache these days.

        Not to mention that hopefully the weapon/magic skilling thing has increased, this is a great chance to finish up old jobs. WAR is the hot commodity these days for triggering RED!! and to have all those weapons skilled up to even be able to hit an NM is pure win, now that it will be much faster.

        o_O I agree w/the pre-poster, in that I threw out my old AF1 weapons. I sure hope they won't be important for some reason in the near future. >_<!

          I can. lol.

          Here's the sequence of events:
          1. Someone writes a routine to check items before NPC accept it for storage.
          2. Someone uses routine for this storage NPC, someone else for that storage NPC, etc.
          3. Magian comes along; system now has a new flag 'magian' which may be applied to items.
          4. New storage NPC "Porter" gets added--the dev copies that code snippet from one of the #2's code, but since this dev never touched Magian's stuff, he forgets to add 'magian' flag to check against when he copies the code snippet.

          i.e. This kind of mistake is very easy to make.

          * * *

          It's like an author writing novel; sometimes, by midway, he'd forget something he wrote early in the book and contradict himself in some way, and the editors fail to catch it. Except FFXI isn't written by one person. And most of the writers have moved on to other projects.

          In both cases, the fans would poke at the authors/devs for making such gaffes.
          Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
          yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
          Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
          leaving no trace in the water.
