    Re: Job Adjustments (12/03/2010)

The effectiveness of the THF job trait "Treasure Hunter" will occasionally increase with each melee attack landed. Further, damage dealt with either the "Sneak Attack" or "Trick Attack" ability will have a greater likelihood of enhancing this trait.
*Effect active only when main job is set to THF.

    - Thieves will learn the job trait "Treasure Hunter III" upon attaining level 90.

Sweet. I'm glad THF finally gets another TH(placebo) as a trait. I like how they say the effectiveness will increase with each hit and that SA and TA will influence TH(obicalp) as well.

I also am stoked my SAM/DNC gets CW3 as well. That's a huge bonus there. Solo'n - Trio'n on SAM just got even more epic.

Generic NIN tools, huh? Meh, w/e. I'm not hurting for space yet.

Gwad, I wish I could say the same. With 4 85 jobs that I switch around fairly often with, I’m pretty full on all my inventory spots. i'm almost always 80/80 satchel and 78/80 inventory. But I’m also somewhat of a hoarder when it comes to storage/locker. I have a ton of R/E drops (or what I like to call trophies). R/E weapons/Armor (half that I cant even use), AF weapons, random NM pop items, limbus upgrades (missing other half), spells that I need like 1 more level before I can use but too lazy to xp on that job, odd ball items like unlit tonberry lantern…who knows what else.

I should really just go toss it all out someday, most of it was stuff i solo'd on Bst for fun/excitment.

Now that I think about it they didn't mention new trials in any of these previews...

But they should add at least a new trial right? Right?

Having more inventory space will be welcomed though. I guess.

You know, a thought crossed my mind as I was leaving to go to work after posting this.

Is this THF update thingamajig gonna apply to Dipper Yuly? Dipper Yuly can potentially spawn at level 90 with this update, and will definitely spawn to level 90 in the future level cap raise so, assuming it had TH to begin with, TH3 is probably a given. A sample size of 2/3 probably isn't representative, but I did get Peacock Amulet and Savaant's Treatise with Yuly. No luck on Serpentes boots though.

There is a caveat that "*Effect active only when main job is set to THF." And truth be told, the BST's main job is not THF. But Dipper Yuly's job is THF.

We already have Blm/Whm/Rdm frame. Blm and Whm both have the higher-end spells (though somewhat limited). We have a Rng frame that is actually pretty good too if you can keep up the skill. Valor can kinda be considered a pld or war frame...haven’t used him much lately but he hasn’t let me down. Not sure if normal harly has his uses…

You, the master, are pretty much the Mnk… What are you looking for?

I can certainly understand wanting more attachments though. I can probably think of a couple cool ones.
I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I've seen suggestions for many kinds of frames, including DRK (DPS Melee), BRD/COR (AoE Party buffs), SAM (TP Melee) and THF (DPS Hate control). I can't remember the specifics of any frame in particular (except that the BRD as it was designed was incredibly overpowering, on par with a real bard, essentially opening up a slot for DDs). These were all things proposed long before Abyssea was announced... probably even before ACP came out, so game physics have changed a bit and these may not be feasible anymore.

I'm more upset that we have a fairly decent Black Mage, a mediocre healer, a halfway decent combination of both, and A DD (RNG), but that's all. When it comes down to it, there's really not much of a choice in the matter. Valoredge is decent versus lower mobs (DC and lower), but against upper level mobs is really useless. It can't deal as much damage as a DD, and it's as fragile as glass when it gets hit. The only upside to it is the insane HP you can load up on it now, but that's more or less useless outside of Abyssea and 15hp/tick regens. Deus Ex Automata is also rendered useless for Valoredge, since it's more or less impossible to regen all that HP in a halfway decent amount of time, and would only be useful in escape/preoccupation situations. Stout Servant is laughable for this, while 5% does add up after a while, it's more or less useless when a single NM AoE can take off 50% of a fully buffed Valoredge puppet.

I wouldn't mind the buff to Valoredge they talked about last update (if I remember correctly) to make it more of a tanking puppet, but to do they they would need to dramatically increase either the damage output or add new puppet emnity generation skills; Strobe is not nearly enough to keep hate from me, I'm sorry.

If you really want I can do some digging around Allakhazam and try to find those frame proposals for you (they were fascinating and well-proposed). There was also a more recent thread proposing new 75-99 abilities, including Aura-type buffs that grant a puppet's ability to surrounding party members, which was an interesting read. Better AI for both WHM and BLM is universal in those proposals though.
