I'm fairly sure that at seeing the Ninja emote, Japanese people are more likely to think "Oh Jiraiya", at the reference, rather than some cartoon.

It's like if you show someone from Britain a sword in a stone, they are more likely to think "Oh King Arthur" not "Oh Fate/stay Night".

Depends on the age, because we have people claiming "Naruto ripoff" here so what's to stop some people seeing a sword in a stone and saying they're ripping off Zelda: Ocarina of Time?

Hell, I've seen people make that remark about Lord of the Rings. See, this is where the internet becomes a bad thing, because now we have people that can't distinguish pop culture from the classics.

I think the RNG one is appropriate. They're supposed to have a connection to nature, not just shoot everything they see on sight. In FFV rangers could actually call on animals to help them (sure, it was usually useless compared to the FFV equivalent of Sidewinder, but sometimes it could do something cool).

Has anyone translated the SAM flag yet?

Also, what the heck is the PLD one even supposed to be? We kinda got ripped off compared to DRK, BLM, DRG...

Of course, if it really is true that you don't have to be that job to use the emote after you have it quested, most high-level players will be able to have quite a few to choose from -- I think I have 17 jobs at 30+.

P.S. Mithra BSTs are going to look weird with cat ears *and* bunny ears at the same time.

Yeah RNG's is by far the most insulting of the lot... I mean, really? Butterflies? You couldn't have say, a tiger or something come out and brush up against the legs before fading out?

I do like the NIN one, it just feels so cheesey. And I admittedly haven't read the full Jiraiya story, I just that he & Tsunade are both taken from it. Didn't know the Giant frog also came from that o.O I figured that was something screwy they came up with in the anime.

Speaking of Japanese culture though, fucking a million points for SAM's emote. WAR BANNER!!!! BOOYA! (Can anyone translate what it says?) I'm so gonna spam that at events lol.

This would be spoken as "Furinkazan"

One thing I'm glad of? Only 1 of the 3 jobs I have no intention of leveling up has an emote I'd actually take the time to obtain (DRG1), the other two (COR and PUP still ???) I can definitely live without.
