I suppose I still love murex because of the BRD seal quest the spicules are used for, even though I've finally gotten all my seals.

I suppose I wouldn't mind doing Vision parties so much if it were on something other than the Mandies. I've had a frog party once (and an awesome one at that), but it was a LS party, and haven't been inside a vision quest since if it wasn't for mandies or atma/NM/item farming. It's about equivalent to Bird meritpos pre 80 -- sometimes you would kill for a halfway decent Bibiki party, even if you know the people at birds can do significantly better in the same amount of time.

Variety + Chance at high demand gear > ease to get somewhere + incredibly squishy mobs, in my opinion.

The only thing that makes me think the level cap is going to 90 rather than 99 with this expansion is that the list of new abilities/new spells only went as high as level 90 stuff. I suppose it's possible that we would just find out about other abilities/spells as we progress beyond 90, but it seems unlikely to me.

Hindsight is 20/20. Plus, in one of the update details they said "increases to 90". I was hoping for a 99 update, but I guess they want to milk the subscription from people as long as possible on the road to 99.

In light of the latest version update, I revised my Bonanza wishlist, and it looks rather silly this time around:

Rank 1: Gil
Rank 2: Gil
Rank 3: Zha'Go's Barbut
Rank 4: Altruistic Cape
Rank 5: Ark Angel TT Statue

My previous choices for Rank 1 have been Defending Ring and Morrigan's Robe. If I ever got a Defending Ring, though, why would I wear anything else in that Ring slot once I can use it? And there's a lot of good rings that could be in that slot . . . but Defending Ring is not only just too good for what it does, I can't even guarantee it would always get the most possible use. Morrigan's Robe became much easier to obtain in the last update. Aureole Ninurta's Sash kinda interests me, but even that is starting to see some competition lately, and as OP as this last item is, I really dislike the design on the airplane sword Almace. Gil, meanwhile, is always useful, and the amount one can win from a Rank 1 victory can be used to eventually get a less gaudy ultimate sword such as Excalibur.

My Rank 2 choice was Duelist's Chapeau, but apparently those, too, are dropping like candy now. And, hey, I suppose I'd be doing Dynamis anyway if I wanted Excalibur. Velocious Belt is cool, but if Ninurta's Sash is getting a run for its money . . . again, Gil proves to always be useful.

My previous Rank 3 choice has always been the Nashira Seraweels, but even those got replaced last update with the Portent Pants. Yeah, it's about 15 levels without the best possible Enfeebling Leg piece, but whatever, I'll just use ASA Legs until then if it's that big a deal. And really, after considering every possible item, the Barbut has the strongest case going for it--nobody is going to want to do difficult 75-capped stuff any more, especially not to get some RDM a lolRanged piece. However, there is something to be said about being, as far as I know, the best Ranged Attack Head in the game thus far, and that combined with the "impossible to acquire" factor seals this item in ahead of the Gil option.

Ranks 4 and 5 are still no-brainers and are thus unchanged.

Well, if I had been playing, none of those are my staple numbers, so I wouldn't have won shit with those. Just my 10 rank 5s and my 1 rank 4 since I always made sure to guarantee myself that.

Fyi... the Ark Angel statues are disappointingly small. Like your gold layout pointer covers them completely so you can't see which way they face for layout purposes... I'm on a 42'' HD TV and can hardly see any detail. So it's a disappointment w/in a disappointment ... le sigh. So I essentially won +9 Inventory.

But, judging from the (also tiny) screenshots on the wiki, the Taru statue floats... so I think that makes it the coolest just from that right there.

And I also saw the Shadow Lord is tiny too... even a taru is bigger than it, which is sad considering how big he is...

Got a rank 4 win, but on my secondary alt, whose intended main is DRG but who has no melee jobs above 38 as yet... So I'm kind of undecided between going with Herder's Subligar (which I can use now) or maybe Love Torque (which I can maybe use in the future if I ever get around to seriously leveling her)...

Shame I didn't get it on Kumei, I'd be looking at either Prudence Torque (DRK83) or Trotter Boots (THF75) there.
