    At Vana'fest I'm pretty sure they specifically said by the end of the year.


    But then the Armor trials got delayed (they should have been out last month) and wotg got split into 2.

      Link please, as far as I know at vanafest and post vanafest interviews there was no 100% confirmed timeline. It was assumed that it was 3 parts because SE only showed us the 3 upcoming expansions. Now they could just go ahead and make a 14 level climb from 85-99 but more likely we will see 5 than 5 than 4 or 4-10.

      But if you can provide a link saying this as fact (not speculation, see: Magian Armor trials discussion for what speculation means) then ill bite, if not, then it is pure speculation, and I don't know why anyone is shocked or surprised.

          I'm still trying to figure out where it was stated Drk is getting some MAB. I saw a Crit Att Bonus but that's melee.

            They aren't, I was saying that might have been more useful instead so they could actually make use of their elemental magic which has been pretty much useless from day 1.

              Still didn't see anything about the saying that by years end the cap would be 99, I saw them elude to the cap being raised to 99 in the future. Not saying by december 18th 2010, players can become 99.

              Again quit speculating on stupid shit.

                I believe the reason Mal thought the level cap would be increased to 99 by years end was because SE announced the level cap would be raised to 99 and at the same time gave use a "road-map" for the next three updates that included Level Cap Increase I - III. I personally thought the same thing as Mal, but after hearing the next cap will only take us to 85 I have to change my belief. I now think SE is going to do increments of 5 for each update until reaching the 99 cap.

                  I'm actually happy that the cap is only going up to 80. It took me two months to get four jobs to 80 (one not in Abyssea, and that job wasn't even 75 at the time of the update), and I wasn't looking forward to grinding them to 90. Also, my only current sub-only job (NIN) was already 40, so I never had to do the subjob grind, and now I only have to get it to 42.

                  Seriously, did they just throw a bunch of slips of paper in a hat and draw one out per job?

                  Aside from the H2H adjustment to A- ... er B+, and Resist Amnesia, PUP has become the new "ain't got nothing" job.

                  Yes, just like they "adjusted" CoP mobs. By leaving existing ones alone and putting new super-mobs in areas where nobody ever bothered to go. The difference is that this time they're going to have to put them in areas where existing mobs will aggro 75+. Ohey chain breakers. Of course almost nobody will fight these new mobs unless something is wrong with Abyssea XP.

                  Oh wait, you still haven't heard? Aggro level is fixed at 62 or so, just like EP level is fixed at 56. Anything that aggros a 75 will aggro a 99. It already works this way at 80. So you can forget ever about running through the mires with no aggro, and many of us knew this two months ago.

                    There are enemies that check Easy Prey and won't aggro you though (or at least very rarely). I've always wondered what the deal with that was.


                    And capping EXP in Abyssea is way too easy... people QQ'ing about subs etc need to just suck it up.

                      I first noticed it at level 30. But the gap at 75+ is about 6 levels, that being 56-61. (I'm not absolutely sure about the exact aggro level, but it's in the 61-63 range.)

                      Keeping the EP level the same after 75 was of course necessary so that magian trials could still be done without having to hunt down level sync mules. At level 99, it is predicted that soloing a level 56 mob will give you 4xp.

                        Hmm, well that'll make a lot of the current trials a hell of a lot easier but that doesn't do us any good with SE raising the cap 5 levels at a time

                            Ya I got together with some of my gaming buddies today and read the adjustments to them. Most of them played FFXI and got a good laugh at some of them. One of them said that if it was April 1st then he'd understand them. lol
