The Character Reactivation Service offers customers who have deleted their characters an opportunity to adventure through Vana'diel once again with their original characters. When you obtain a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID, you can have previously deleted character data restored onto that ID, and resume play immediately!


* The application process for the Character Reactivation Service will differ according to your current FINAL FANTASY XI service status. Please confirm whether you are eligible before applying.

* Even if you are eligible for this service, there may be rare cases in which character reactivation is not possible.

* In accordance with the merger of several Worlds on March 23, 2010, any character deleted on one of the merged Worlds below that is reactivated through the Character Reactivation Service will be reactivated on its post-merger World.

* We are currently working on transferring character data from characters deleted on pre-merger Worlds to their new post-merger Worlds. Once a character's data has been transferred, it will be able to be reactivated on its post-merger World. All character data should be transferred by July 31, 2010.

* If a character deleted on a pre-merger World does not appear on the Character Reactivation Service management screen, we ask that you periodically check the management screen until July 31, 2010. If the character still does not appear on the management screen even after July 31, the character will not be available for reactivation.


Eligibility for the Character Reactivation Service

- The applicant must be a current PlayOnline member.
- The applicant has cancelled a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID, and is unable to use the regular Content ID reactivation process because the reactivation period has passed.
- The applicant has deleted his or her character.

* The above eligibility also applies to applicants who have deleted their characters on their Content IDs before creating a different character on the same Content ID.

* The above eligibility also applies to applicants who have deleted their characters on their Content IDs before cancelling the ID itself.


Applicants will be ineligible for the service if any of the following apply:

- The applicant has cancelled his/her PlayOnline account, but has never obtained a FINAL FANTASY XI Content ID.
- The character has not been deleted automatically or deleted by the applicant.
- The character has not been deleted and can be reactivated using "Reactivate Content ID" under Membership.
- The applicant is currently playing, using the 14 Day Free Trial.
- The applicant had his/her PlayOnline membership revoked due to violations of the "PlayOnline Member Agreement," "PlayOnline Software License Agreement," "FINAL FANTASY XI Software License Agreement," and/or "FINAL FANTASY XI User Agreement."

Customers who can still reactivate their characters through the regular reactivation process cannot use the Character Reactivation Service. Please confirm before applying.

[ Regular reactivation process ]
Character data is stored for 3 months after the Content ID has been cancelled. Within that time frame, Content IDs can be reactivated. If you perform reactivation procedures after 3 months have passed and your data has not yet been deleted, you will be able to reactivate your Content ID. If you would like to reactivate a Content ID, you can do so on the PlayOnline Viewer from: Service & Support → Membership → Contents → Reactivate ID.

Customers who cannot reactivate their characters through either of the above methods are eligible for the Character Reactivation Service.


NOTE:

Please note the following:

* Before you apply for the Character Reactivation Service, please make sure that your web browser is configured to accept cookies.
* Customers who are able to use the regular reactivation process for PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI services are asked to do so.
* Applications cannot be accepted during PlayOnline/FINAL FANTASY XI maintenance.
* Customer support is unable to field questions regarding eligibility. Please confirm your eligibility by completing the application process.


Payment

Character Reactivation fees are charged at the standard Content ID reactivation rates; $12.95(USD) for the first Content ID, and $1.00(USD) for each additional ID. Payments will be due the month following reactivation. There is no additional charge for the actual character restoration. Users are only charged for the creation/reactivation of the Content IDs on which the characters will be restored.

Good to know they're bringing back the reactivation service again. A friend of mine just got back into the game after deleting his character and he's rather bummed out about it.

Hmm... was thinking about picking up this bad habit again... but XIV is coming out later this year...

Yea. I keep wanting to play FFXI, but then I think that FFXIV is coming out soon. Trying to save up a few months of bills not playing FFXI, so I can play for FFXIV.

Does this mean we get A.Bands? I remember the last time I reactivated my dude, I got an a.band. I don't know if this works for existing characters?

XIV won't be out until at least September, but I would bet on an X-mas release from what I've heard with regards to the Alpha's status (lots of bugs still being fixed) plus they still have Phases 1 and 2 of the Beta to go through.

It looks like a great deal.
I'd get it for sure if you were provided with a tangeable product but I was told that it was Downroad onry ?
Otherwise I'd jump at the chance I still need the final 2 expansions.

Would current players be able to buy this to install/activate the add-on expansions? They're still being sold for $10 for each individually on PoL. But for $11 for all three, it makes more sense.

If I got this,would I need to uninstall the whole game, could I choose to install select portions? Or would I have to uninstall/reinstall everything?

You would probably need to download/install all of the content. But its a better value to do it this way. Just so you know though... The expansions can be a bit of a pain. lol

You can use this with your current account. Just change use your current account though.

I would think that all you'd have to do is input the CD Key that you'd receive with the product and it would unlock the content.
