Given SE's history of colossal fuck ups, I prefer a healthy dose of skepticism.

Its funny, you (and a select loud minority) tend to be the only ones with this mindset. Colossal fuck ups you say? And yet, every update in the past year and a half has been full of win that it's shut up even the most negative of nancy's (except for you /sigh). Be skeptic all you want, the rest of us who still have fun and faith in this game will be over here having fun with Synergy =D


Tried it out last night with some of my Nyzul peeps who already have crafts leveled, turned out to be pretty fun, furnace blew up on us once, had us rofling.

Better yet, why don't you get over your sense of entitlement to a perfect game that will never happen? How about that, eh? Doesn't help that your idea of balance tends to be broken when laid against the facts of this game.

When I don't like something I don't buy it. When you don't like something, you pay for it and keep bitching. Which do you think is sending the wrong signals? When SE fixes something or gives us something awesome, you're practically ALWAYS the first guy to complain, wishing what they gave us was overpowered or even gamebreaking.

The whole "the internet is my outlet to be a whiny bitch" thing tends to get old.

Seriously, people jump on the negative band wagon a little too quickly. I mean, come on, what kind of people do some of y'all hang with that the very prospect of having to work together makes you howl in pain?

Fun fact: THE VERY PROSPECT OF HAVING TO FIND LOTS OF PEOPLE AND WORK TOGETHER MAKES ME HOWL IN PAIN.

Here's a funny thought: Perhaps you just completely spelled out how locked into RPG cliche we truly are. I, for one, am fucking tired of it. How many decades of the same RPG and MMORPG with different names will you need to play before you get sick of it?

The only thing I tire of in MMOs is guilds falling apart. Facing facts - SE designed guilds poorly in this game, giving them no purpose whatsoever and every reason to fail frequently because of that. It might not have been their intent, but without giving players a guideline, players devised their own and what we got was a model of corporate life instead of adventuring.

SE also suffocated every social linkshell on Odin and Bahamut and keeping them closed no matter how many people have left. No matter how hard you try, without new blood coming in periodically, a social linkshell cannot be sustained because people will level up and join an endgame LS that is all like "I am thy LS and thou shalt not have any other LSes before me."

Because I really need anonymous people powertripping on my online free time.

Guilds need to be structured next time. That's my one and largest complaint with FFXI - no guild structure, just glorified chat rooms. I don't give a SHIT who comes in and says how nice thier endgame LS is, I've had to endure too many awful ones to take a chance on another.

That's why I've stopped playing. I'm just sick of starting over and especially sick of being backstabbed time and again when I'm really the only one in an LS with a concept of strengthening the group morale. Tired of attending events and my points not being tallied proper. Tired of my jobs not being used to potential and instead being employed to the most base of tasks with regularity.

The one thing that is supposed to make MMOs fun is usually the same thing that makes them suck - other people.

Synergy looks fun and all, but I never was a big crafter to begin with. All I have is 60 Cooking and 62 Alchemy, so at least I can make the Fewell (funny name ;p) but this does give me even more of a reason to level Alchemy more...... Now I just need the gil to do it.

I haven’t had the chance too look into it much (my apologies)...but has the use for those Aptant type items been discovered?

Or has it already been known and I’m just so far behind.
