Re: Announcing the Moggy New Year Bonanza! (11/24/2009)

They brought the minimum level of flying mounts down to 60 when they brought the level and cost of the regular and epic riding mounts. And they upped the speed so it's actually faster than a land mount without having to buy epic flying.

But I don't see the big deal about flying in an MMO, I found Super Speed in City of Heroes/Villains to be 10x cooler. But then again I enjoyed reading The Flash when I was younger <.<

Flying was great because you didn't get aggro while doing so, where you might get aggro on your land mount and get knocked off of it, which was a huge fucking pain in the ass. Being able to fly over it all was great.

In addition to being able to get from point (A) to (B) whenever you chose as opposed to having to fuck around with airships or warps accompanied by the inevitable snail-paced running the length of a zone or two.

It was nice but you could only use them in Outlands or Northrend, which still left two other huge continents that you had to ride around in.

No need for flying mounts in XI though because you don't get aggro on Chocobo. To me that's the main benefit because getting knocked off my horse with five level 73 mobs trailing me was just no fucking fun at all.

Doesn't mention anything about a level requirement... I wonder if that means all my level 1 mules are eligible? If so, I'll be reactivating them all the day before they start selling the marbles.

Yeah there was no level requirement for the last one, so you're good.

One of my mules had deleved to 4 on the way to Whitegate and she was still able to purchase them for the last bonanza so all is good.

                Awesomeness. In that case:

Tier 1: If it's significant (like the results from last year) then gil. Last year was an 85 mil prize, I could use that to buy stuff I want. If it's not significant, then Usukane Haramaki is my next choice.
Tier 2: Possibly the gil (again depending on the amount). Otherwise the Mog Bonanza Kupon X/Pantin Taj or Bard's Cannions.
Tier 3: Nothing interests me, so Mog Bonanza Kupon B/Pantin Tob or Bard's Justaucorps
Tier 4: Probably Vilma's Ring for my Minstrel's Ring activation set
Tier 5: Shadow Lord Statue, depending on what stats it gives. Otherwise Miratete's Memoirs.

I just started an account on WOW to get my sister's BF to STHU and apparently you get 3x the XP from kills/quests when you recruit a friend.

I'm sitting here right now at lvl10 and it's only been like 45 minutes. lol He is "telling" me that we could have 60 by the end of this weekend, if not much much sooner. I only started my account yesterday haha.

I want a flying mount tho.................................

And I agree with one of the previous-posters: I want statues this time. That's all my placing my expectations on. n_n

Re: Announcing the Moggy New Year Bonanza! (11/24/2009)

It took me 7 ingame days to get to 60 on wow back then as a warrior without all these super XP stuff.
Then 60-70 took another 2-3 weeks... and i gave up on 70-80...

Don't brother with WoW. It is all just a repeat. I will wait for US release of monster hunter Tri.

As for the prizes, anyone have a good strategy they want share?

I mean with 5 numbers there is a 1 in a 10000 chance to win.

If you buy 10 marble last digit range from 0 to 9, you are bound to win the 5th prize. If you have 10 character with last digit range 0-9 and each character 4th digit will range 0-9 you are bound to have 1 winning rank 4.

So basically the chance of winning is very small. What would be a good strategy ? range 0-9 or take the chance just random ?

The chance of winning is so small that you really might as well not bother coming up with any strategy. That or you could save yourself some time and headache and just not participate. That's my plan.

According to that strategy, if you have $159,750 in real life cash, you could technically corner the market and earn 1 of each of the 5 rank prizes.

You'd save more money buying $ from BR75DISC than playing the lottery.

Of course, you'd have to factor in how much time it would take to create 100,000 characters, not to mention the 5000 accounts you'd need.

Actually.... if you're a Gilseller, you probably have access to 5000 accounts already. lol

It's worth remembering the prizes can't be transferred between accounts so gaining a ridill or ninurta's sash on your level 1 Windhurst mule isn't so peachy. Granted, a gil prize would be okay but after trying to transfer 100 million in one million gil increments you'll probably find yourself perma-banned by one of S-E's anti-RMT programs.

Ya you'd have to contact a GM and ask them to transfer the money for you or how you'd go about doing that without getting banned. Though I would find it endlessly humorous to have someone come on the forums in a snit if it happened to them. lol Hmm...that was kind of mean wasn't it....I think the pumpkin vapors from today have gotten to me.

So transfer it in 500,000 gil increments, and suffer the time taken in return for increased security.

Or keep it on the mule, and use the mule to do all the buying for your main (leaving out non-transferable items, pop items and the like).
