Dang, I guess I'll be waiting until the Synergy update to come back for a bit. BST update is enticing though.

Re: The Version Update Is Here! (11/10/2009)

I'm guessing the new NMs are for gathering Evoliths or something. Who knows. Either way, the areas that these new NMs appear in appear to range across time and continents.

Nice update for Beastmasters indeed, as well. And I distinctly remember S-E saying that they are still looking at the Beastmaster job when they announced their updates. I would be more inclined to believe S-E now when they say something like "we haven't forgotten you," or that one thing about continuing to support this game for as long as there are people playing it.

Regarding the MV "nerf" I have no idea what they mean by "a predetermined period of time must elapse before Modus Veritas can be used effectively." I have a 5000 gil bet, though, that I know exactly what they mean by "certain Notorious Monsters . . . ".

Regarding the chat filter, it's an obvious anti-RMT nuisance measure. I would personally only throw the /tell one on, considering that /shouters can generally be brought to GM attention by several more people at once.

Only just now you take heart?

I mean, I'll concede pet jobs mostly get the short end in this game, but even so, I've constantly said pet jobs are the sort of thing you need to take a step at a time. These don't fix or save BST, but it brings it closer to where it should be. They just gotta work on that lack jug pets for the last two expansions and that whole "Hi, new zone, can't charm nothin' here" thing.

                  Baby steps.

MV Nerf: I so called it. I can safely take out my SCH again.

And not merit MV. Har har har.

It's somewhat of a nerf. I'm not so sure I like the part where it said some NMs will have resistance to it. But the other part, regarding multiple SCHs using Modus Veritas at the same time, does fix a blatant exploit. It's such a bad exploit, no SCH could even remotely argue that it is not.

Well I'm kind of interested. Exactly how does Modus Veritus work and how was it overpowered that it was adjusted for "certain kinds of NMs."

Oh I won't argue its a fix. I'm totally fine with it, I just like the the dreams of alleged endgame strategists have been dashed yet again. People scrambled to level it, riding that bandwagon and got screwed. Good for SE, awesome for me.

Hey, endgame, learn SCH, ok? We can nuke, crowd control, manaburn and tank party. If best thing you can figure out for us to do is White Mage it, hand the pearl and shell over to someone who can build alliances. WHM does his job fine, let him do it, we got plenty of /WHMers to back him.

You had your little fun exploiting us, now we are free to be used properly again and read our books, so apply our versatility. Red Mage would also like a word with you about that.

A SCH would cast a Helix spell on a mob. Then multiple SCHs would use Modus Veritas at the exact same time, exponentially increasing the damage dealt by the helix. I don't remember exactly how the YouTube video went (nor can I access it from work), but it instantly killed a Yovra.

Oh I won't argue its a fix. I'm totally fine with it, I just like the the dreams of alleged endgame strategists have been dashed yet again. People scrambled to level it, riding that bandwagon and got screwed. Good for SE, awesome for me.
......people actually thought this fix wasn't going to happen?

really?.... your really going to bitch about this, with all the cool stuff added in this update -.-

there are so many things a RNG can do, with gear and such, that SE really did not need to plan this change in the first place.
