Spam filter seems pretty fail. Why didn't they disable tells for trials? I bet any amount of money the RMT will find their way around it.
I didn't read any of the rest of the thread, as I've been at work all day, but those are my thoughts.
Wow, on the seventh page and only one comment about the filter. I knew they would wimp out and make it text-based. And it sounds like SE controls the word list, too. Say hello to "b r 0 s a 1 e" for me.

Exactly. They'll have a way around it in less than a week.
I was getting spam tells last night with the filter on. So yeah, they've already managed to work around it.
Why don't they just disable shouts and tells for trial accounts already? I agree it really sucks for the honest new players;
I'm sick of SE having to resort to these kinds of measures that end up hurting legit players, but there aren't many (if any) other alternatives for combating RMT until some kind of law is passed making this shit illegal. I'm not a lawyer and haven't really studied law, but I would think it should be possible for things like gil to be branded as the IP of the company (in this case SE) and thus any real life transactions involving said IP that are not authorized by SE would constitute copyright infringement at the very least.
They need to set at least some form of legal precedent to take action against all these damn RMT. Deleting accounts over and over doesn't accomplish much, but lawsuits & court hearings do.
SE should just sell gil themselves. Sell it for really cheap so the RMT have no way to really beat it, make it like 5mil per account per quarter or something (which is really more than enough for most players) and there you go. SE makes money of their players even more than they already do, the RMT are fairly screwed.
Hey, the economy is already fucked beyond repair, they might as well, right?
While disabling tells from trial accounts would be the smarter solution, it sucks for new players. I tried out CoH awhile back, and before I bought the full game I couldn't answer whispers or send them myself, or even join a Super Group(Guild/Linkshell).. I was lucky and people happen to form Sewer teams at the sewers, so I could just wait there for groups, but it's still a bother when you need someone else to do something.
Assuming, as with other trait+1 equips, this actually GIVES you Shield Mastery, this becomes amazing for a solo RDM. It's size 1, so don't use it for damage mitigation, obviously. But that high proc rate goes well with the 0 chance at interrupt with Shield Mastery.
Go, RDMs, and flourish.
"And if he left off dreaming about you, where do you suppose you'd be?"

There are laws. Chiefly, harassment could be used if a company cared to. The problem is that GILSELLERS LIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FUCKING PLANET. It is KINDA hard to apply the law inside your own county, let alone in another state or country. Especially China.

Cool stuff. My heart actually fluttarued for a moment. The general idea, though, is that I'm likely going to sub /PLD anyway, so it would be debatable at most whether an extra point of TP per shield block and more frequent shield blocking would be worth the hit in overall damage mitigation one would take from using that instead of a kite shield.
Still, cool beans.

However much I am actually smart, I got that way by confronting how stupid I am.
If you really wanna call it that, sure. Given that it's PLD equip-able, do you really think it's even possible it wouldn't affect them? Seems silly. Not like a PLD toting buckler level damage reduction getting 4 tp/proc is broken.
Though Armando should get one and spam Atonement.

Shield Mastery's TP bonus is linear. Therefore, small size (more proc) is just more tp abuse. Don't be so fast to call it trash.
Also, I just think Rdm/nins who actually tank stuff could really get a lot of mileage out of it. Simple fact: Shield Mastery "Any value" means you shouldn't get cast interrupts if you shield block. And not like Rdm/Nin ever relied on their shields for damage reduction. May as well go for the size 1/max proc rate.

So what? It's a size one which means it won't reduce damage taken as much. As I recall, Armando was the one who tested all this out sometime ago and determined size 3's to be ideal. So yeah, trash as far as anything serious goes.
But for soloing against stuff that can't hurt you much anyway? Yeah, I could it being viable then.
