I wouldn't be so hasty. RNG was and probably still will be an enmity magnet after this update. Stealth Shot really never did shit to reduce the enmity generated from a Slugwinder or Barrage anyway, that is, unless you merited in full and why the fuck would anyone do that?
I mean, I don't really need to point out that just using Sharpshot or Barrage is pretty much like using provoke, do I? Or that using them in tandem is akin to popping off Warcry? Or that with this these adjustments, guns would have gotten more enmity than bows? We have plenty of places to amass shitloads of enmity still. SE just wanted to tone that down a little, then realized maybe we should be getting that level of attention for what we do.
Also, the other form reduced enmity comes from Camouflage , which may or may not last past the first shot. Given it always had a flimsy duration anyway, its probably still only going to be good for one shot unless you want to exploit Windsday and Windstorm or both, then you might get more out of it.
I agree but why scrap it right away, they should have never said anything.
SCHs were getting nagged the very second they walked out of the mog house to go help people with KSNMs, BCNMs, NMs or whatever thanks to this exploit. People knew something was wrong with it, no one made an effort to hide the exploit. Then people probably just outright reported it to SE, most of them probably being SCHs who were pestered to death.
Can't blame then for doing since I'm in the affected party. It just sucks for people who wanted to exploit it but never got around to it. That's no reason to keep it in the game.
I mean, yeah, let's just undo the MPK patch so BSTs can see what life was once like post-Leave. Not happening. Adapt and move on.
EDIT: yeah he meant RNG stuff. still felt good to say it
That's still way not cool of SE to hype that change up only to take it out... F U SE. We are not amused.
The reduced perp from Avatar's favor almost makes up for that... almost, had they not again denied us new summons (maybe later this month?)
And before anyone jumps on my case, this is 100% legit griping because I for one am sick of SE saying one thing and then doing another. There was no "you may be getting" here, it was "you will be getting" and then @ the last cocking second, "nope, changed our minds too bad"
Ruined an otherwise very good update, at least for me. I was really hoping the reduced enmity was going to be their way of balancing RNG vs 2 handers but oh no...

And when it proved to do nothing, you would have bitched about it anyway.

See? You're bitching anyway.

And when SE does what they say they're going to do, you bitch about that as well.

Like you gear up your RNG anyway. It probably was going to change as much for RNGs as the manaburn nerf did to BLM. When you deal in attacks with x5 multipliers hate is not going away. Especially if you /WAR half the time like I do.
Again, Steath Shot was a waste of merits, it did nothing even with -20 enmity tacked on, I still would get massive hate for sidewinder. I don't think this update would have changed much, either.
You wouldn't have gotten the new summons. You won't get it for a while. They said they aren't even close to finishing WotG and The Walk of Echoes, the speculated new avatar's domain, hasn't even been introduced as an explorable zone yet.
So far, the speculated new avatar has been featured in exactly one gameplay battle. And you aren't even doing battle against it. It is simply the summon spell of the real target of the battle. Going to have to be patient about the new avatar since, as many have already realized, a new avatar would not have changed SMN's situation anyway. It's simply going to be one of the many perks as the expansion continues to be worked on (remember, not only SMN stands to benefit from a new avatar. The battle does potentially have gear that will be useful to other jobs...)
What SMN did get was an update that was actually better than I thought, since it will also reduce Perpetuation cost.
Up yours, ok? RNG was one of the 1st jobs I really enjoyed until they made it unplayable. I've been busting my ass trying to get a Vbow for the past few weeks in anticipation for the update, and was really hoping that enmity reduction would make my preferred play style (RNG/WAR) a bit easier to manage.
I'm going to continue it anyway because I've been saving my ACP key for Mirke with RATK +10 Snapshot +5. I'm just sorely disappointed (again) with SE's asshatery. I've been taking each job up as they update it (Maat's cap is my final goal before quitting) and when I say they were going to adjust RNG again I thought to myself "Awesome, this just the excuse I was looking for." since on average it takes me about the length between updates to get a job or two to 66+ and it's been working out just fine.
The update is available for download btw, best get it now if you don't want to be caught in the innevitable cluster fuck.
Is it honestly that hard for them to just let DRG use Haub? Is it really that awful? Splitting hairs at this point with this item what the hell... I mean it's cool, but to me this is like a cock-slap to the face.
