    Really though, how could you not see these being rolled into a collection eventually?

    This is the price you pay for being an early adopter. You buy stuff early, someone gets a better deal. You buy the next gen console falls into third place for a while and your favorite games to handhelds. And so on.

    SE doesn't seem like they'll publish further expansions for PS2 if they can just distribute it this way. otherwise they'd have a PS2 version here as well. The model is in place, so PS2 players won't exactly be left behind here. We just pay the premium if we want the addons. $20 has already been spent so the last $10 won't kill me.

      I don't think this was directed at me, but... I like how they did it immediately after the newest expansion came out (Is it even out yet?). It'd have been different if they'd waited until early next year to do it. Like I said though, I'll probably get it just so I can have the last 2 add-on expansions. Then too I can toss away all my extra PC discs

          You can play PS2 games on a PS3, just not FFXI. I didn't say "They are saving them for people who play PS3 games only" ...
