I don't see how being a Rdm matters at all,

It matters in relation to this:

All I said is that there is a feasible chance that SE does have one more big announcement left before the update and they could be <insert wanted thing here>.

Think about how many updates that I thought that as a Red Mage in the past, and how wrong they all were (the September 2008 update comes to mind). I know this all too personally to be nothing more than wishful thinking.

This "sneak peek" is pretty "meh" but I'm not about to quit just because of that. I still have a lot of stuff to do in FFXI, and will most likely KEEP playing FFXI after FFXIV comes out. Why, you ask? Because there won't be that much content available in FFXIV to beging with, and even if there WAS a ton of content available, why the hell would I want to rush through it?

I know, eh?! I don't know how I manage each day... Getting 8k/hour with minimal effort... It's just not right I tells ya. Not to mention it allows me to log off on a whim and not have to put up with finding a replacement for myself, although I have once done that while soloing.

You forgot the part where any other job can run up and ninja your mobs, people who decide they want to farm/exp on the beastmen.. Fenrir is going through the "BLM Bandwagon" at the moment, for every 1 melee job you see.. there is 3-4 BLMs.

So 8k/hr? Not likely..

Edit: Also.. at the people who say everyone who got banned deserved it.. What about this Auto-Jailing bullshit that messed legit people up within an hour of it being released? But hey.. if SE banned them they must have done SOMETHING wrong.. right?

You do realize that like 90% of the playerbase uses some sort of "cheat," do you not? These are players like Kaeko, whose testing and calculations changed the way we look at some things in the game (a huge one is enmity), people who were pioneering things for this game. I am not going to sit here and condone what they did, but many of these people really were good skilled players who made a bad decision when it came to salvage. I don't think you can say that they were shitty players just because of that. I can be really good at math, but forget to carry the negative sign throughout my work. I got that one answer wrong on the test, but I'm still good at math.

I think they deserved to get banned just as much as anyone else, but I don't think that just because they made a poor decision that they were not good players.

yeah I am aware, and this just starts up the old "what you consider cheating" argument that I really dont want to get itnto, because I find many things that Windower does, not cheating, if you can get theinto anyway, it does not matter where it is on your screen, of course that how I see it, others might not share that view. But seeing through walls, warping, duping items.... this is all cheating, to me anyway.

Yeah I'm not arguing that it's not cheating because it absolutely is, but I don't think that detracts from their skill as actual players. They deserved to be taken out of the game for what they did, but I wouldn't call them sucky because of it, more or less (as I said before) they made a poor decision and they paid for it in their accounts.

no because I call BS on well over half the people QQ/rage quitting over this one update, like it was some magic "keep me playing" update, like all the others are ;p

^ This. And all the people whining about *this* post about the next update have apparently already forgotten all the other stuff going into this update including at least one new zone, at least one new mob family, Campaign Unions, more missions, MMM and FoV expansions, etc. Oh yeah, and some moogle thing.

We've just had a year or so of one huge update after another - chocobo raising, chocobo racing, ZNMs, level sync, FoV - so it might be easy to forget that updates weren't always *that* huge, and it might take them a while to think up that many more new ideas.

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out, drama queens. If you're really going anywhere at all.


P.S. As many people probably remember, some of the biggest changes have been the ones SE didn't breathe a word of until the patch was already live, because advance knowledge of them would have been... disruptive. If they were finally going to make the one change *I* really want, namely adjustments to the exp system, I'd expect to see... nothing, which is exactly what I am seeing. Of course, if they weren't going to change exp, I'd expect to see nothing about it too. But my point is that it's about 3 days too early to complain about what you *haven't* seen in this update.

I gather you mean Windower and its plug-in's?

Players who use PS2, xBox360, and PC w/out Windower combine for more than 10% of the player base, I would think. Just because you hanged with those who use Windower only, doesn't mean the rest of us are all like that. JP players are even less prone to use Windower, I think.

The argument that it's not really a cheat because "everyone" uses it is getting old, and was never rational or based in reality in the first place. I suggest its users be honest with themselves like Kaeko; it's a cheat, because SE gets to define what is 'legit' and what is not, so weight the chances of being caught vs. the benefit it brings. And, be prepared to lose one's account if caught.
