If I have a few good weeks gil-wise I may grow a pair and toss in my Prism Cape, but going to start with Lamian Kaman and Errant body.

I'll admit I can't see the images (woo! blocked at work!) , but based on this text:

It seem that this is only for a certain set of craftable weapons, which you can get five tries at an augment that's worthwhile. Gonna guess the original items are blank with decent DMG and Speed, but through the Augments you can get a weapon that's on par with most other weapons available at max level, allowing you to get the stats you want, not picking the best available of what exists (and is actually available).

If I'm incorrect, someone clarify (and possibly attach the images to the file for those of us stuck at work, please).

Interesting thought for us RDMs: Possibly one of these will drop an augment that increases the damage to En-spells? Could we be looking at a cheap alternative to the Enhancing Sword? :D

EDIT: Also, if I understand it correctly, grats to crafters on now having an almost endless supply of crafted weapons you can make. Well, except for Leathercrafters and Tailors. Sucks to be you. =/

S-E is not that awesome. At best, I can see us getting a possible alternative to the lolThanatosBaselard.

And so you know, the first image, the higher-level FoV NM picture, is an Errant houppelande with all the usual stuff, augmented with HP-34, MP+34, and Water resistance+19.

The second image is one of the new craftable weapons, named the "Dweomer scythe," Scythe All Races DMG:92 Delay:528, exclusive to Lv.75 DRKs. This particular example is augmented with DMG:+4, Enhances "Souleater" effect +1%, and, as Feba pointed out, "Additional effect: Silence+7". I'm no Dark Knight, but it seems to be a decent DRK-specific weapon.

Is it possible that this type of upgrade could come from the existing augment fights? Just asking. Only done one and that was an "introduction" (1-10) fight.

No. It is impossible to augment any equipment greater than level 50 with the existing FoV NMs.

Nice idea but you know the implementation will be ass. Let's face it, they're chuffed to bits they conned the playerbase into spending $10 for a piece of decent gear, they're not going to give similar quality pixels away for free.

And it's looking like this (July) will be the last month I give SE money for quite a while.

Still waiting to see if some miracle happens, but I'm 95% sure I'll be cancelling again in a couple of weeks. d(^^d)

That scythe is garbage compared to Perdu. Hopefully there are better augments available. Maybe a GAX or Polearm that boosts crit damage? Something that could be paired with a Brave Grip to make it actually worth equipping lmao (trash grip -. -)

Or maybe a GAX with a decent boost to DA? (plz be 5% or more... I know that's asking too much of SE but omg that'd be sexy...)

We've been over this. It doesn't matter how much crit rate you get elsewhere Brave Grip will still be inferior etc. etc.

Looks interesting, we will have to wait and see how they implement this. A lot of naysayers and yet this hasnt even been released yet.............gonna laugh my head off if this turns out to be pretty sweet.

The greatest heroes and heroines of Vana'diel—those who have achieved the pinnacles of their respective professions—can also look forward to a new quest that will test the limits of their prodigious powers, and promise rich rewards in kind.
With hordes of fell beasts threatening their ancestral homelands, the pixies would entreat your aid. By entering into a pact with the fey folk to slay one of their notorious foes, high level players will have the opportunity to obtain an augmented item to add to their arsenal.
While Fields of Valor and the elite training regimes offer quick, straightforward objectives that can be enjoyed by lone wolves, this new quest is intended to provide a significant challenge to full parties of up to six veteran adventurers.
That seems intersting. But I don't really do FoV elite training or anything like that. Sure, Maybe try on cheap Lowbie equip, but other than that... No.

But, SE should make Augumented items TRADABLE so that if some one else likes teh augument thats on the item, they can buy it off you, so you don't have a complete waste of 40 or 50k.

But... WHY NOT FIX WHAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED INSTEAD OF ADDING NEW SHIT THAT NO ONE MIGHT NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH!!!!!

No. Good god no. The whole point of Augments is to personalize the item, as well as spur on crafters.

I'd actually rather spend 100k and buy and item off a person that has been augumented to something that I like, rather than be sitting there day after day spending 500k on items trying to get 1 specific agument. Not to mention all the tabs that you'd be using up as well, that could be used for better stuff like the Repration, Refresh, Regen ect.

What needs to be fixed? Nuking doesn't give much reward in Campaign, BLMs don't fit well into current high level exp strats, and Mal bitches about SMN. The last one is unfixable and the first is so minor they could slip it into the already announced campaign changes without further notice. And because of the differing mechanics of physical vs. magical DD in relation to opponent levels, high level physical DDs and high level BLMs are better suited to attack opponents of different levels (not to mention families), in addition to the tactical difference between steady damage (and therefore a need for steady tanking/damage avoidance and healing) vs. burst damage (relying on distance and/or CC to prevent the target from fighting back), so the benefit of working together would have to be almost ridiculously huge to make it worth one of those jobs playing to its weaknesses.

Oh, and DNC, PUP, and BST are unwanted in many high level activities. That one they possibly *should* do something about (or maybe they're cool with the idea that those people can just level another job for endgame stuff, and get into a LS of non-assholes that lets them lot for the job they aren't bringing), but I'm not really sure what and probably they aren't either. This probably won't be it, but it will give the more loner-ish jobs something they can do without joining large event or HNM linkshells.
