Or the fact that we don't have job abilities and the fact that by endgame, all of our spells, except Utsusemi, are useless. I just LOVE using the elemental ninjutsu for 5 damage each!

That's why I can't stand partying on nin anymore in merit parties. I do nothing but use utsusemi and blade:jin. How fun and useful. It's something that every other job can do at that level. It's just that those other jobs do more damage at the price of one single shadow. They even take the job of tanking as well. Great.

Not my fault people don't use elemental ninjutsu as the mini-threnodies they are. Hard to argue that your enfeebles are useless just because you don't use them in common endgame activities, too.

EDIT: If anything, Ninja could use some worthwhile abilities involving Shurikens. The cost of tossing them the normal way is pretty unrealistic. Something like Sange except not fail.

Maybe modify Sange so that when you use it, you throw multiple shurikens, WITHOUT consuming your shadows..........I think that would be good no?

Yeah, that'd be neat. It'd be like Barrage with Shurikens. Or maybe just something like COR's elemental shots. Anything that uses a small number of Shuriken to cause a (relatively) large amount of damage/hate on a cooldown would be nice.

That would probably be a good hate spike tool for when and if voke is down and such..........whats the cooldown on Sange if you only pump one merit into it?

yeah we do. people have to sign up on the forums for every run (not just CoP) and it's first-come-first-serve. If there are extra applicants they are put on the waitlist and then anyone left over goes to the other run scheduled.

Sange's base recast is 15 minutes, with max merits (hah) it can go down to 5. 5 minutes is pretty long though, I'd like to see something on a 3 minute timer like Shield Bash.

Yeah, maybe a new ability I guess, although cant they just modify the recast timer and how much time you shave off thru merits via a job adjustment?

Pretty sure SE simply didn't want NINs throwing Shuriken with any sort of regularity. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what requiring Steel, Darksteel or Gold (+Tama-Hagane) just to produce 1/3 of a stack would do to the prices. Fuma are pretty retarded too, only stacking to 12. That's why I suggest a special ability that makes use of Shuriken rather than a drop in Shuriken price, since I doubt SE will do the latter.

SE meant for NIN to be a DD and Puller, yet it restricted it's best tool for both roles.

Fuma is OK at 12, because they're just like cannon shells but would it kill them to adjust the recipes to cheapen them a bit? Shuriken should still be pricy as their DPS is insane, but at the moment they're too costly.

What would really be awesome would be a new ability similar to quick draw that combines Shuriken with ninja tools for different effects.

Manji are cannon shells too, they still stack to 99. 72 DMG on Fumas is crazy but 63 DMG on Manjis isn't much less crazy for a ranged attack with 192 Delay.
SE meant for NIN to be a DD and Puller, yet it restricted it's best tool for both roles.
That's highly arbitrary of you to say. There's nothing that indicates NIN was meant to be a pure DD or specifically a puller. Those enfeebles are there for a reason, and anyone with a ranged weapon can pull.

If anything's for sure is that SE wanted the job to have really expensive tools. They succeeded.

That would be kind of cool. I still don't think it would make me want to play NIN, but it would be pretty cool nonetheless.

Not to nitpick, but just to level the skill requires throwing with regularity. Throughout the entire game, you're pretty much gaining experience through fights with some amount of regularity. Then, wherein would a situation arise where the acute application of shuriken be worth the cost, even if you had the proper skill level?

It's not like shuriken are the only throwing weapons Ninja can use.

Yeah it's impractical no matter how you slice it, but that's SE for you.
