  • Delve Even Deeper with Expanded Services from the Moblin Maze Mongers! (Part I) (04/0

Their business booming thanks to the loyal patronage of adventurers across Vana'diel, the ever profit-minded Moblins of the Moblin Maze Mongers (MMM) have a few more tricks up their sleeve! To reward their loyal customers—and hopefully entice a few new ones in the process—MMM will be unveiling a host of new services and refinements to their line of custom-order dungeons in the upcoming version update.

    Share Your Masterpieces!

MMM will introduce a new Maze Tabula duplication service to provide adventurers with a simple and easy way to share their favorite mazes with one another!

For a nominal handling fee of only twenty marbles per transaction, you will now be able to register a Maze Tabula of your choice with the designated MMM duplication NPC. Copies of the registered tabulae—sorted by theme and popularity for your browsing ease—may then be purchased by any adventurer for the low, low cost of only 500 gil. Now your masterpieces of dungeon design can be enjoyed far and wide!

(Note: Copied tabulae can only be used as is; their runes and vouchers may not be customized further. In addition, copies may be used a maximum of five times.)

    Materialization Department Gets a Restructuring!

To address customer concern that Materialization Team missions are excessively challenging compared to other MMM services, Goldagrik and the gang will unveil the following adjustments:

    - Materials obtained will be automatically and instantly stored with the NPC Stowastiq.
    - There is now a chance that materials will not be lost when synthesis fails.
    - The necessary waiting period between synthesis attempts will be shortened from 60 to 45 seconds.
    - Certain conditions will result in the appearance of a notorious monster which, if defeated, will yield intermediate synthesis materials. (Note: These materials, however, will not be automatically stored, and must be delivered to Stowastiq manually.)
    - When assigned your final order, you will be able to choose from a list of items.
    - Base synthesis skill level will be increased for all Materialization missions. This value may be increased even further by adding the appropriate Maze Rune.
    - Reward items will be increased to three times their previous quantity, and their contents overhauled as well.

In the upcoming version update, certain monsters appearing in areas introduced since the Wings of the Goddess expansion will have their attack strength lowered. Certain monsters appearing in MMM mazes will be affected by these changes, with the Moblin Marble rewards gained by defeating them adjusted accordingly.

These features are only part of the excitement that awaits MMM customers in the new version update, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Part II of the preview!

Yes, I suppose I should've provided the link given what day it is, but if it was a joke it would've followed the formula in the other thread and been more interesting.

Does that mean there's more MMM info coming out in the next few days? That's not leaving much space for the Northlands, New Avatar and more job adjustment notices SE =(

To address customer concern that Materialization Team missions are excessively challenging compared to other MMM services,

All this was really the least they could have done. Especially considering the thing is practically im-freaking-possible in its current state.

Can't wait to see what they have in store for us in Part II!

This is hot. My voucher 04 has only been used once, and even with 6 people it was a pain in the ass (note, we did it shortly after release, so hardly any information was available.)

Question about V04 though, what is there to gain from this maze type? I've read that it only accounts for your highest crafting skill, which would suck considering I want to use it to level my subs. Any gear/items gained that make this Voucher even worth doing?

First of all, the only way we know the rewards somehow involve your highest-leveled skill (and that you can get skillups up to 60) is because S-E told us so in an interview last winter about MMM; I highly doubt very many people, if anybody at all, has actually managed to successfully complete it, due to things including (but not limited to) things that have been listed above (considering you have tried it once, you are probably more or less familiar with that already).

Secondly, if all you're looking to do is better up your combat ability and gear, then by the sheer fundamentals of the voucher alone you chose the completely wrong voucher for the job.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an MMM veteran when it comes to the other Vouchers (over 4k marbles earned, seen almost every weapon drop, still working on gear drops)

I'm just trying to figure out what benifit to the player it holds. Like my highest craft is 71 Woodworking, but will the maze always push for WW type projects even though I can't get skillups past 60? Or is there a way to make it push for other craft levels so I can gain skillups? Also, do you get permanent items from the maze, like the ones pictured above (Bloodwood logs, etc.)?

Do you have all the appropriate runes?

I only just got rune 94 about a month ago I think (I've been playing a lot of rented games lately ^^) and so far I've only gotten Alchemy to drop... but (I assume) if you can get all of them, you can use those runes for party skill ups. Not sure if they have any impact on what you need to synth (unlikely)

Then there's Swift Synthesis (400 Marbles) which drastically cuts down on the time needed to synth, as well as the H.E.L.M. runes you can buy to help make mining/logging/excavation points appear in the maze (500 marbles a piece, yeesh X.x)

I'm hoping (with the help of friends) to set up a synthesis maze with weakness, peon (to greatly reduce mob strength since only voucher 01 goes by lowest PT member for mob levels) Swift Synthesis, the H.E.L.M. runes and as many of the associated skill up runes (Alchemy, Smithing etc) as I can fit. If I have to make 1 for each craft then so be it.

I can't wait to get it set up and start making copies for my friends to use and skill up with ^^

I've gotten a couple of Synth runes that dropped from my farming runs, I would have to check when I go home. I've had the rune 094 since about mid-Jan. As for the rune buying, I've spent most of my marbles on runes for my NMs and for increased marble drops on farming runs.
