    Ya, there's absolutely no problem with a fundamental aspect of RDM at all.

      It's better than nothing, that's for sure. All that's left to do is to wait and see how much dmg tier II Enspells do and how much the new ability affects spell delay, but it should at least make things easier for me while soloing as long as it doesn't involve subbing nin or taking so much dmg that Stoneskin becomes unusable. /shrug


      It's amazing really, I don't expect anything (and I mean anything) from this update so my expectations are virtually zero for the new stuff.

      (Technically speaking: Expectations = 0.000000000000001)


      Edit > Let's just hope Composure adds melee accuracy and that the resistance down effect from the new Enspells lasts long enough to MB a SC you started or closed.

      Also, Enspell dmg 2x would be good but I don't expect them to increase dmg just to mess with us.


      Edit +1 > Oh, oh! Let's not forget MP cost! \(^-^)/

      Wouldn't it be nice if the new Enspells cost 3 times the MP but had less than 1.5 effect increase like those awesome Merit spells? We'll just have to wait and see.

        I like what I'm seeing so far but as my casting experience is so far very limited, my favorite part is still from Part I:

            I'm just curious if the accuracy from Composer will allow for an extension of a Haste build on RDM [ Walhara (5), Golliard Body (4), Dusk feet & hand (6), Velocious (6), Nash Legs (2) ] to other fields (besides farming). Of course, not for endgame purposes b/c we all know most people will not deviate from standard tactics.

            It'll be interesting to see how the casting time/duration of spells is going to be penalized with Composer. I mean . . .with Fast Cast ( Body & head ), haste gear, and say you really want to go crazy with /SCH for LA & DA . . .will it nullify the penality?

            Also are tier 2 Enspells going to do more DMG as well? I want to see how stacking Fencer's Ring ontop of it will be like in the end.

              So pretty much exactly what everyone predicted, a new Stance JA that boosts melee skill at the cost of casting skill and new En-spells that lowered elemental resistance. Two things, which in the end, will really go unused outside of campaign/small parties/soloing EP-DC mobs. Increasing acc while doubling the recast of all your spells is a pretty crappy trade-off. It's certainly not good for those who solo T+ mobs and not good at all for parties. And the new en-spells would only be useful on mobs that resist a Rdm's debuffs...but Rdms wouldn't be meleeing them anyway. Though it does seem like it's a one hit only type thing like Feint or something, so a Rdm could run in, hit the mob, then run back. Assuming the resist down is even worth it.
              What were you expecting? They're obviously not going to do anything that'll improve RDM's insanely surviability/soloability. And they're obviously not gonna turn it into a competitive DD.

              Still, the update tackles a good number of the problems plaguing RDM melee: sub-par weapons and lowered skill (addressed with the Composure Accuracy buff and Enspell II's superior damage), frequent casting (remedied in part by having self-buffs last longer), and inability to use elemental staves (remedied by Enspell II lowering an elemental resistance.)

              Whether a meleeing RDM will be an asset to an EXP party remains to be seen but at the very least those who choose to go that route won't be at a statistical disadvantage. Besides that, while the Enspell IIs only affect the initial hit, Composure and Enspell II become available at 50, at least 20 levels before you need to worry about /NIN, Joyeuse or Evisceration.

                Actually this update was exactly what I was expecting, infact I said that this update was exactly how people predicted it would happen. Small changes that don't really alter the way the job plays, but are nice for fooling around and niche situations. I'm not saying if it's good or bad, I'm just saying it was expected.

                    This new update doesn't help with my SMN currently. I still will have issues with blood pact's that use physical attacks miss the enemy. Atleast it helps with my bloodpact wards... ugh. Still not enough. More SE more. Com'n solve the issue with missing blood pacts.

                      This update also does not serve me since i am fully merited on the physical avatars!
                      It also does not adress the promise of avatars being able to open/close light and dark skill chains

                        Well, it seems support SMN/WHM just got a boost.


                        Also, I'm curious about the dmg increase over time for Enspells II. And knowing SE maybe the scrolls will only be obtainable from the Mog Bonanza thing (first place.)

                          Fail. Serious mother fucking fail SE.

                          Why did they have to build up all that hype with that EPIC WHM update, only to post this garbage? What's bothers me even more is they said this is the "Second Half" of the job updates...


                          Umm, didn't they say at fan fest every job was getting something?! Thanks guys.

                          Hopefully the merit BP's will get a decent damage boost. Took them long enough to buff them, I mean wtf the 70 BP's still out damage them even with 300 TP...


                          At least once every 5 min (well, depends on how long the recasts are with Composure up) RDM can get an extra long Refresh.

                              He most likely did. Also probably expected things like DRG getting Jormy as a new pet.

                                My disappointment stems from the fact that this new stuff is probably something I'll never use. At least the WHM stuff mostly seems useful.
