    What more could you possibly expect for RDM, a job that doesn't even need any kind of update because it's just that good? You should be happy to get anything at all.

    This is a good step in the right direction for SMN. It's definitely going to be nice for Campaign and such.
    To be the best in this game...you must help each other become the best.

      I welcome these new stuffs for RDM.

      Enspells II were a given, let's hope they deliver.

        I don't understand how anyone can be dissapointed in this update. RDM getting anything at all is pretty cool, not to mention it is only good stuff that can be used for campaign, besieged, solo, and creative parties but everyone complains that it isnt something they can use in every party when THEY are the ones that are unwilling to try something new.

        I think its an awesome idea, and I'm glad RDM got anything at all, when they were just fine before.

          All this crying makes the update even better. I know this update has been 6 years(ish) in the making, but you don't have to get that emotional. It's ok guys, all you have to do is breathe and invest a few mil in swords nao.

            I'm not using anything other than the damn Joyeuse the good Lord deemed fit for me to wield.

            Unless of course I get my hands on some Murgleis action.

              So pretty much exactly what everyone predicted, a new Stance JA that boosts melee skill at the cost of casting skill and new En-spells that lowered elemental resistance. Two things, which in the end, will really go unused outside of campaign/small parties/soloing EP-DC mobs. Increasing acc while doubling the recast of all your spells is a pretty crappy trade-off. It's certainly not good for those who solo T+ mobs and not good at all for parties. And the new en-spells would only be useful on mobs that resist a Rdm's debuffs...but Rdms wouldn't be meleeing them anyway. Though it does seem like it's a one hit only type thing like Feint or something, so a Rdm could run in, hit the mob, then run back. Assuming the resist down is even worth it.

              All in all, rdm didn't get too much with this update...but at least they got something?

              Oh well, yay for Smns at least. The more buffs they get the better.

                I am wondering does Composure effect "enhancement spell" like Refresh, Haste, Regen, etc... like the duration of the spell.

                    Well looking over the updates, I think they will lead to more equips for rdm and in term blu. Sword that would give magic boosts. It makes since because there are shields that all jobs can wear that have a decent buff and defense, but no where near as good as a shield that is pld/war only. So a matching sword coming up would not surprise me.

                    This update does kinda depress me because the en spells having a tier two makes the mystic knight class possible introduction even more unlikely. Even through I would still like to see a DD in a white turban and cap going to town on a mob that thought his melee immunities would protect them. But ah well.

                      I'm laughing at all the RDMs ingame and in other venues who are giving WHMs the stink eye. I'm not going to lie, it is pretty awesome to shove the updates in the face of some RDMs I know who lol at WHM.

                      SMN's tweaks look useful, and a step in the right direction. I'm hoping though that SE just wants a new avatar to have as much fanfare as possible and as such is saving the announcement of one for a post of its own =).

                        If Composure really affects on the duration of spells like Haste, Refresh, etc... the worst case is just /ja Composure -> start Refresh/Haste cycle -> then manually cancel Composure. Imagine Haste last 5 minutes instead of 3 with the same mp cost, or Refresh last longer with the same mp cost. In the long run it may save mp.

                          I kinda like the Rdm update. Rdm get the toys they want however the tier II enspells will not activate on either the second hit or not activate at all for multihit weapons and job traits. Joyuse + Haste + whatever else + Enspell IIs was concerning me.

                            This would also include spike spells (in addition to the white magic buffs already mentioned). However, the wording suggests that it only increases the duration for the spells cast on yourself, so that you would maybe get more mileage out of activating composure, casting refresh/haste on yourself, cancelling composure, then finishing the refresh/haste cycle of your PT?

                            OOh, do you think this will significantly increase the duration of RR, Protect, and Shell?!

                              Considering the en-spell effect only goes on first hit, and the composure increases cast times it is quite possible someone was heavily suggesting Rdm try out different Support Jobs. A Rdm/??? using the one best sword they have access to and a shield (Genbu shield maybe?) would be pretty interesting to see with a self Haste buff lasting longer than normal. Keep in mind I am speaking mostly of solo. Eaxmple: Rdm/Dnc who doesn't have to rely on just mp for their cures...? Dnc can't be the only other good sub either, I'm sure others can think of the benefits of different ones.

                                It's what I keep saying every time a RDM update is mentioned. Seriously people seem to think that Red Mages need to be able to self-skillchain for 2 trillion damage while casting Chainspell Meteor at will which has Additional Effect: Breakga to the 50 mobs around them.
