Regarding the Next FINAL FANTASY XI Update

The next version update for FINAL FANTASY XI is currently scheduled for Apr. 8, 2009.
* Maintenance details will be released at a later date.

After this version update, the contents for the add-on scenario that became available for advance purchase on Mar. 22, 2009, "A Crystalline Prophecy - Ode of Life Bestowing" (listed below as "A Crystalline Prophecy") will be playable.

Additionally, due to congestion on or around the date of the version update, it may take some time for the contents of "A Crystalline Prophecy" to show up in FINAL FANTASY XI after purchase. It is recommended that if you are considering a purchase of "A Crystalline Prophecy," you do so before the version update.

Fair enough really. The servers go into meltdown every time an update is released and that will only make things worse.

I bought this last night and it took like 2 minutes no problems and it activates the content on purchase so you dont even have to enter the code yourself.

They make it sound like the expansion won't be available until well after the update. As usual the wording is a little vague O.o

I ordered mine a few days ago so hopefully there will be no issues other than trying to decide what to do first

They're telling you that on release day that their registration servers are going to be under high load so if you wait till the 8th to order it it may take time for it to go though the system.

It's only vague if you can't read. It says right there 'after the version update, "A Crystalline Prophecy - Ode of Life Bestowing" (listed below as "A Crystalline Prophecy") will be playable.'
