    . . . Seriously, though, epic update for White Mages. It makes me optimistic about what S-E has in store for us Red Mages, and I may actually take White Mage to 40 once I'm done with Paladin, just to play with the new stuff.

        These are very interesting and attractive changes. The ability to dole out mini-stoneskins via the cures is a rather decent answer to SCH's AoE Stoneskin, though I'm guessing the stoneskin effect might be in some ratio to the cure cast and likely not exceeding the usual limit. That and I don't really see it displacing SCH's AoE Stoneskin, but rather, help support its effectiveness. Since Accession Stoneskin usually lasts melees a few fights, but a PLD only part of fight (good NIN can keep SS for a good bit), this can let WHM fill the hole on supporting the PLD with Stoneskin so a SCH didn't have to constantly re-apply it to a tank.

        Also, I wonder if this would help make WAR tanking make a comeback. It would add a bit more durability to it than we currently have.

        Best part of these changes is all the major changes remain exclusive to WHM save for some of the spell adjustments. I don't see RDMs getting anything remotely similar to these effects, but this makes me more interested in what SE plans to do with RDM. This update pushes WHM to the frontline where its needed, but also takes back a lot of ground from other mages for the healer slot, RDM most namely.

        SE's "stance" concept for jobs has generally been a good one, save for the lackluster Footwork. SAM's Hasso and Seigan, SCH's Light and Dark Arts, RNG's Velocity Shot and now these WHM changes have all proven to be rather positive additions. I think the "stance" concept can apply to RDM as well, so I'm hoping that's what they'll do.

          Since no one else has mentioned it, the French and Japanese notes clarify a few things

          Esuna only works if the WHM has the status effect(s).

          Auspice's Enlight and acc bonus are for the WHM only


          And on a completely unrelated note, harvest cheddar sunchips blown up in a bomb calorimeter smell like old people.

            Also, important note:

            One less excuse not to sub /SCH, at 70+ you have access to Reraise under sub as of this update. I was contemplating BST/SCH for 70+ and now have no reason not to. Addendum White would alleviate most status cures, though still lacking Erase.

                    For the love of God please let the other job adjustments be just as good!

                    My guess is there's going to be a preset cap on how much stoneskin you can give from having taken damage, as BBQ said in line with each cure. Hopefully it will be equivalent to the soft cap of each cure at minimum (so 30, 90, 180 etc)


                    That makes Cure V somewhat interesting though... potentially uncapped stoneskin? I wonder just how much of a beating the WHM has to take to build it up too.

                    My only real disappointment here is with Afflatus Misery, particularly in regards to Holy. Why doesn't this one accumulate? and it overwrites, which means you could suddenly take a weaker hit and lose a big bonus to Holy. And it's only for the 1 casting?

                    I dunno, they did say they were trying to go for a frontline update to WHM and a lot of this contributes to that goal. However I do feel they failed on Misery by not making it cumulative. The reason being that assuming you're solo, you're gonna be taking multiple hits (wtf happens when hit by a multi-hit TP move? Does it all pile it as 1 big hit?) and so the fact that it won't accumulate blows and depending on what you're fighting, you'll likely be more inclined to use Solace.

                    Just a bit of constructive criticism for you. Other than /SCH, this is probably the biggest and best update to WHM in some time.

                                It honestly isn't that good. I'm seeing a bunch of crap for WHM solo ? Enlight? WHM-only accuracy? That's retarded, WHM is for healing not for that. The only things remotely interesting are Esuna, and the stoneskin effect, though I'm willing to bet it wont be much.

                                I hope the BLM update isn't this terrible, I'm expecting something retarded like Scythe skill cap increased to B+ and en-dark, lol, I really am. SE just doesn't get it.

                                It is evident the FFXI community is starving for updates and willing to take anything, if blizzard pulled a shitty update like this on the healing classes of WoW there would be an uproar.
