This right here. Homam is honestly some of the best looking gear in the game. Then again, ya gotta think of the time period they are referring to here, most pieces of clothing in the equivalent time period of our time were ALSO horribly gaudy >_>

Personally I'm hoping they might consider to make it 3 buffs instead of two <_<
Gonna get the mage one on Aka for when I get those last 15 levels on Smn. Avatar atk/racc and mab/macc I'm set on. -2 prep too hard to get give it up, but for a body piece, just gotta have it. Though given that relic feet give atk, I guess I'd go with -2 prep there. Just which we knew how much relic/af buffs to avatars actually does -_-;

For the pld type, acc+10 enmity+5 {Yes, please} Though I wish we could get two, could easily make the dd one to similar to shura togi ;x

Re: "A Crystalline Prophecy" Advance Orders Begin and Item Details Announced! (03/23/

Well, given that SCH is my primary mage, I can't say I'm surprised that the mage body does nothing to displace the value of the SCH body or other body pieces I use for it, or even the other body pieces I want for it, so that just leaves me to decide on melee. I just hate that both my characters would have to end up with Mirke Waldecors. RDM, BLM and SMN seemed to get a pretty good deal on the Royal Redingote, but WHM and BRD didn't. Magic Accuracy +4 would be decent for BRD debuffs, though.

But for SCH, really nothing there worthy of note, at least not yet. +5% Cure potency would have been a fair option for those of us that aren't WHMs, though.

I'm at a loss to figure out how I could make Waldecors good for COR. Snapshot +5% is nifty and all, but I melee a bunch on COR and already have a great body piece for that. Even with all the snapshot gear, though, this wouldn't put COR close to RNG on Snapshot. Could use it to make a QD piece, though, +4% MAB or +4 Magic Accuracy and -5 Quick Draw ability delay could be something.

Then again, I could add +5% more snapshot to my RNG than I had before. Currently a RNG could hit +15% with Velocity Shot, then add 10% more just with merits. This body piece would raise it up to +30% snapshot. Then there's Zha'Go's Barbut and Jalzhan's for up to +34% in Assault and +32% everywhere else. And I could just toss Store TP +4 or Ranged Attack +10 on after that, not like I totally need +10 Ranged Accuracy for RNG given how much one gets already. If I do, I can always fall back to Pahluwhan or Denali (when I get off by lazy butt to do Nyzul, that is).

BST I wouldn't want to lose the benefits of +10 Accuracy, which sadly would make the body piece no different from the Hauberk I just got, save for the +5 AGI. But the option to give my pets +15 Accuracy would be very nice. The Call Beast ability delay -15 would've been nice with merits, though. Just a small ways off from 75 BST now, I guess I'll see how much my accuracy catches up before deciding on anything there.

Still, these aren't finalized stats, so wait and see, I suppose.

While I understand some are complaining that this goes against the notion that you can level more than one job - I think that would be why they did it. They've already given us mission rewards for "All Jobs" that fill all our earring and ring slots. We have a ton of belt options from quests, NMs and Dynamis, so I don't know if there's anotheg good "all jobs" option for that slot.

I think pushing towards specializing a job might be the better way to go.

Re: "A Crystalline Prophecy" Advance Orders Begin and Item Details Announced! (03/23/

My thoughts: I already have a lot of things for my jobs that I can just throw in already compared to the augments available for these armors. Here's my situation.

RDM: Warlock's Takes care of my enfeebles full-time, Duelist's Fast Cast effect is higher than Augment would be, Errant already has Enmity -5 as well. If I'm not mistaken, INT+10 is equivalent to both MAB+5 and MACC+5. Pahluwan Khazagand is my normal Melee Set Piece. If I decide to take up Redingote, there's not much else to give RDM with this piece but slap on ACC+10 and ATT+10.

NIN: Koga for Normal ACC and TP, Artifact for Haste/DualWield, Osode for WS. I suppose I could make this into a Hauby that doesn't penalize your AGI, but I'd lower my crit chance a bit. Once I get my Haidate though, that'll make a significant difference. Not to mention it looks way the fuck better than Hauby will ever be.

BLU: Since Magical Builds don't count into Mirke, I'll only count in Melee Builds. I prefer Mirage Jubbah's Refresh effect while I TP, and Magus for Spell Casting, Chain Affinity and Weapon Skill. Since I'm going for Magus Jubbah +1 anyway, this will make Mirke not exactly needed, Unless I decide for some reason to augment it with ACC+10 and either ATT+10 or Crit Hit Rate +3% for Vorpal Blade.

DNC: Pahluwan for Normal TP, Rapparree Harness for Haste, and Scorpion Harness for soloing. I could see to it if any of my jobs need a boost for Body Pieces, this is certainly it. Certainly sounds like it would be on par with Relic with ATT and ACC augments. I'm not certain if STR just raises the fSTR for Dancing Edge and Evisceration since they have DEX (and CHR in Dancing Edge's case, but I'm going with a guess by saying it sort of does), but it does affect Pyrrhic Kleos. I'm leaning to get Mirke for this job.

And on another note about how these new armors look: I actually think the Redingote looks sort of like something Amano would come up with. Mirke is a nice color scheme, as well as Nuevo.

Hmm... If I'm not mistaken, Mirke with +10 racc +10 ratk would be a better shooting piece than Kyudogi, RNG or COR relic or af+1, and possibly even edge out Skadi.

On the other hand, when my COR gets to that level I'll probably melee with Joyeuse for most of my TP, so shooting would really only mean pulling and WS (since QD doesn't benefit from those stats - although the AGI would help a bit, unless you have Skadi or Antares).

Magic damage = (Spell's base damage + difference between your int and the mob's int) x MAB x staff x weather and such. Base damage for Blizzard III is 320, so with 20 more int than the target and an NQ staff you get 436 damage. Adding 10 int gives you 477 damage. Adding 5 MAB instead would give 482 damage. Adding both 5 int and 4 MAB from an augmented redingote would bring it up to 485 damage. This is assuming pretty poor nuking gear in the first place but as you can see on higher tier nukes MAB will give you much more bang for buck than int.

The relationship between int/mnd and magic acc has not been well established. 2 stat = 1 acc assumes that magic and melee behave the same way, which there doesn't seem to be any reason to believe. A melee swing takes four stats into consideration after all whereas magic only uses two. It's hard to present real data about magic acc but I don't buy that theory.

At any rate, Redingote with +4 MAB and +4 magic acc seems like a slight upgrade from errant and yigit for nuking. My problem with trying to replace errant is that there's nothing better for para/slow/stoneskin but that's another story.

SE seems to want to instill at least some sort of uniqueness into this game...no matter how minor it may actually be. Which is why at some points, they make you choose which function you seem to prefer over others. Yes people play multiple jobs, and yes SE knows people play multiple jobs, but why shouldn't people who prefer to focus on fewer jobs be allowed a slight edge in said jobs? Between combat merits, "pick one" mission rewards and to a point, Mythics, SE has given that option to those that prefer specific jobs. The guy who goes thf to everything and knows thf more then anything and does his best to be a thf should be a better thf then the guy who leveled thf to 75 "just because".

Personally, I think the Heavy armor and the black vest thing are two of the best looking armors SE has made in a long while. And it's a shame I can only choose one, because I would love to have both just for their looks. I bet the heavy plate would look great with the I.M. set.

Yay the mystery attack warning is gone (why did it show up again? Silly Google...)

The Store TP mod is quite frankly a little weak. I was really hoping it'd be +10. and YAY potential Haub for DRG that looks even better but is a total waste of potential augments . _ .

Is there any single piece of gear in this game that gives that much Store TP? You might find yourself being disappointed less often if you simply learn to adjust your expectations to be more reasonable.

Good thing it is likely I'll be able to put the armor on hold (like with all the other story based rewards) until I find a job to use it for. Otherwise I'll just get the better looking one I guess.

With luck SE could buff the stats/augments when they release it.

For a COR and RNG wouldn't the piece with:

For the melee bodies, Nuevo Coselete covers WAR/PLD/DRK/SAM/DRG while Mirke Waldecors covers MNK/THF/BST/RNG/NIN/BLU/COR/PUP/DNC , it is a tough choice for me even before taking argument into consideration. I would most likely wait and see which one looks better on the screen and decide on that XD

Would it kill SE to give RDM access to decent (mission/quest) melee gear once in a while.
You're looking at it the wrong way.

This piece can be augmented to have +10 Acc +3% Dual weild, which for a RDM/Nin is better than a SH+1 (You CAN go Hauby -1 on this, but RDM benefits more from delay reduction due to enspell usage.) DA, Attack, or Crit hit are good alternatives if you don't /nin often.

It still won't beat Morrigan's for all around RDM idle/front line piece, but it's better than most of what we currently have. Now to find out if it's worth the actual effort involved.

My plans for this piece as a RDM will be the above until I manage to get morrigan's, then it's either a toss up or a toss-out depending on how I can craft it to help nuking.

I do have to agree that Mages have to skirt the line of performance on this one to figure out what is best. Because honestly, mage stats are still not confirmed as to what does what, and with all theses smaller stats on mage side than they are on melee side, it makes you wonder.

But could they have made the gear any uglier? I would have preferred something more along the lines of a white Morrigan's body. At least it comes with good stats for SMNs.

Still, the other two pieces are hot though. I feel happy for the other jobs.
