        b) Perdu has hidden stats and lots of stats. In addition to being r/e. Just not feasible to expect it to be augmentable. If it were, i'd be afraid of pushing hidden stats off the queue or... something.
        c) I'm always a bigger fan of making more options than making the absolute best options bestester. An improved Perdu would just widen the gap between it and the other axes. Would that really go anywhere to improve the playerbase?

        Hmmm if you can augment r/e equipment, I have a shaky suspicion that a lot of Aurum gear could go from "good, but not quite awesome enough" to "wowserpants"...
        Not likely. They all have at least 4 "slots" worth of attributes already. If they're upgradable, a haub prolly will be.

          If you can augment R/E gear, there will be no reason not to ... after all, you already can't be rid of it save by just dropping it. The exception here would be full sets of AF or the like that you CAN store inventory-free...

            I'll give my opinion on it.

            Despite what everyone else fears, I think that you WILL be able to do r/ex gear, as well as gear with stats already on it. The reason is because the picture shows the mithra to be using an errant's happl, with zenith slacks and a light staff. I don't think ANY gear will be augmentable, but I don't think they'll draw the line at rare/ex.

            Yes, I know that's not guaranteed. Not only has SE messed up the pictures before, but it even has a DISCLAIMER on it saying "What you see is not necessarilly what you get, cuz we're not finished yet..."

            Here's how I think it will work: I think it'll be tied to the new fov quests. You trade your gear you want to augment to the book, an nm spawns and you fight it. If you win, you get to choose and augmentation (from a list) that you want. If you lose, you lost the armor. I think the chance you can lose the gear will be enough to dissuade most people from wanting to "gamble" their good gear (like af+1 or even dynamis gear,) which will keep *most* of the equipment augmented the cheaper stuff (like errants).


            After all, a level 75 can level synch with a level 10, and he can wear a scorpion harness and af2 while doing it, right?

              I'm not so sure the argument that the max of 4 different bonuses to an item makes them "unaugmentable" works entirely. Assuming you can augment items that already have stat bonuses, who's to say you can't just add on to those? Add more str to your hauby or more accuracy.
              I'm still of the opinon that it will really only apply to lower level gear thats really only useful until you can get gear with real stat upgrades, but even gear that is at the 4 bonus max could still be added upon.

                I just want to add Enmity to Koenig to make the gear finally "not useless" again.

                DEF: 65 HP +60 / VIT +20 / CHR +20 (for those NIFTY Killer Effects) / Enmity +5 would make the STR -10 and DEX -10 bearable.

                Funny how one stat can make you rethink other pieces of gear...
