That's what I have been saying in previous posts. I know very well that there are folks who didn't even get temp banned (all they got were emails saying don't do this again), and yet they not only duplicated nyzul armor, but salvage gear as well (not sure if they abused it with sandworm). Then there are the folks who weren't directly involved in duping nor did they get stuff from duping (unless you count salvage cells) like you described above, and they were perma-banned for a first time offense (though I will admit I don't know if this was indeed their first offense if we consider all possible infractions leading up to this point; I'm just guessing based on how long I've known them).

But despite my complaints, everyone simply assumed that I was whining and crying about my suspension. I suppose I would have been pretty giddy about the bans myself if I were on the other side of the equation. Honestly, we all should have been perma-banned. (Though I would guess they did not do this because most of those people were likely end-gamers with multiple accounts, not just the one that got banned.) Instead, SE is sending mixed signals. In the end, the opportunity to actually voice the concern about the "arbitrariness" of the perma vs temp bans is likely long gone.

Regardless, you had to make a decision, and you miscalculated. Do you see any similarities between what you did and what SE is doing to some of their most loyal customers?

...most loyal customers? I don't know about you, but people who not only exploit something wrong with something I created, but intentionally keep it a secret from me are not people I would consider loyal. The fact that these people not only knew about it and used it, but intentionally kept it from going public so it would not be fix is a massive example of betraying SE's trust in it's player base. SE has always thought highly of it's players, to the point of being naive to do so. When they see something like this, a large segment of it's players actively exploiting and hiding a problem in their game, that's spitting in the face of trust and "loyalty". Most people seem to ignore that fact, but I'd bet money that it played a part in the severity of these actions.

Indeed, some people still don't get it. I'm not asking for pity, and I'm not asking for a reversal in my punishment. I am, however, interested in how SE is deciding who's banned given that their actions do not seem to reflect what they say (i.e. that the bans were given those who also had other infractions in their record).

Actually what they said is how they seem to be judging who gets banned. Something people don't seem to get is that it's not the gear that caused the most problems. People were artificially increasing the number of Alexandrites, a sellable drop, along with Sandworm BC items, using this method. Many people did nothing more then dupe Cells, items which have no value outside of that specific, and solitary instance, and have gotten suspended. Because they were abusing an ingame glitch to cheat the system. Similarly how people were jailed/warned for the Wall-of-Justice. Of those banned, it's not just about the Salvage armor, but of all things that were duplicated and distributed throughout the game. As well as those who not only employed the dupe, but perpetrated it throughout the community while at the same time hiding it from SE.

Again, I'm not interested in anyone's sympathy. I am not here to defend my or anyone's duping actions. I am, however, questioning how SE is addressing the situation, not why, or should they, etc. No one seems to be getting this, so I give in. There is nothing to debate here, since everyone else seems fixed on a tangential topic. Some of you are at least responding to points that I bring up, for that I thank you for the scholarly debate. To everyone else, take care!

SE is addressing this situation the same way they always do it, harshly. Warnings, suspensions and bans depending on the severity of their actions. It may not be 100% accurate, but from everything I've seen, they're eating their sushi on this one.

Thf subs Brd in Dyna to get all mobs tagged with TH. As a Thf puller, if you shoot a statue and three mobs pop, you've only TH'd one mob...depending on how fast your group kills. And if you pop an NM and their little army, and die while pulling, then that's only one of XX number of tagged mobs with TH on em.

Probably the only person I've heard about that I'm actually sad to see go. But as they themself admitted, many things they've done were borderline exploits...so those probably added to the overall sentence. Which is a crying shame.
