Re: Handling Misconduct (Jan. 22) aka Ban hammer!
I can say that if I were a regular salvage doer and I knew about the exploit, there's a good chance you might see my name on that list. I can't lie. I'd love to stand here and say that if given the opportunity, I'd tell my group to go fuck themselves, but realistically I would struggle to pass on the opportunity to finish pieces faster for the entire group. I totally understand why they did it. Yeah, they're still wrong for doing it, but I understand why they did it.
I'm honestly glad as hell that I didn't know about it until it was patched, because I might be pretty damn upset right now. I wouldn't be bawwwwwing on BG about how I didn't deserve it, but I'd still be pretty fucking messed up over it. I guess I can even understand how some of them are lashing out.
That doesn't mean it's not funny as hell, especially because of the ones who swore adamantly that there would be no bannings and that what they did was not wrong.
Still, I'm not gonna lie. Given the opportunity, it would have been hard to pass up. I can't say for 100% certainty that I'd take the moral high road on this one.
So while you don't see my name on there, you may very well have. :/ And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who can admit that if they'd known, they might also be on that list.
Guess we're not all angelic, but we're mostly lucky in terms of circumstances. I didn't have a Salvage group (just got one!), and the few Salvage runs I went on were pick ups with random people who barely knew what they were doing, let alone how to dupe. I'm grateful for that now. As much as I'd love to see some finished pieces, I'm really glad I wasn't spamming Salvage and duping drops.
Anyone else? :O
