I'm saying it more to the fact that a lot of people who just got duped alex may have been banned, I know one guy on Hades who was getting duped alex cheap from his friends in Salvage sent me an email that he got LM-17. I assumed Stan was working on a mythic and that he prolly got some duped alex(since it's impossible to tell which is which).

Then again though my buddy prolly talked about in game which is why he got banned, and this is going on the basis that I take his word on this >.>

        3. 3 duplicate treasure pools for each party after boss death.

Its amazing how people find this crap out, but good thing its fixed!!
From what I read, you could disband the alliance from the start (once you've entered), instead of waiting until just before you killed the boss.

That means in Salvage, you could take advantage of this glitch to not only dupe the level 15/25/35 armor drops, but you could dupe all of the pathos removing items. When you triple those items, you can move through Salvage that much more quickly, thus increasing the chances of even getting to the NMs to dupe those drops.

This is rather amusing. I would say this is one of the most substantial bans to date. I wonder if this is going to have a negative impact on the game.

Removing cheaters from a game usually has a positive impact.

I'm glad some of those people got banned, the ones that whined when they were exploiting the game and crying about how everyone should be quiet about it so SE didn't catch on. The same ones that whined when it was fixed, some even pathetic enough to say with it fixed they couldn't face doing the same events because it was too hard. I bet they're whining now too. I just laugh at those people.

"FFXI players pay for the service of playing FFXI. It is SE's responsibility to deliver a working game. The duping glitch was an example of SE failing miserably. The bug was known and reported many, many months before it was fixed. I recall several people mentioning reporting it during the initial findings of it. This is negligence on the part of SE. If someone pays you to take care of their dog, and you forget to put food in its bowl, it's your fucking fault if the dog starves to death or gets sick, etc. If someone comes and steals the dog, guess what it's your fault."

Re: Handling Misconduct (Jan. 22) aka Ban hammer!

I'm just going to say that I was worried that people that were not knowingly involved with it shouldn't get the boot.

Let's say that I just joined a few people shouting for salvage and joined them, not knowing why they disbanded during the fights, would I be liable for partaking in that incident? To me, I just saw a couple of items drop from my side, not knowing that other parties got the same drop as well, and if I wasn't in the LS, then I wouldn't be part of the ban would I?

That's what I would be worried about, if that happened to me. But since I never did salvage, nor did I kill the sandworm, I have nothing to worry about. I'm just playing the devil's advocate here.

I wonder if that works in dynamis as well...

Another note, with the way the economy is, is it wise to boot so many people that provide income to the game? This may be another issue to contend with, or no issue at all. Just asking rhetoric questions...

I'd like to think SE are better than that.. like to think.

As far as I'm concerned, since they said they checked logs and things they could have checked what was said, those knowingly doing it for the extra drops would have talked about it, who got the drops etc, if they saw you were some random invite who didn't mention it then I'm hoping that kind of person didn't get banned.

On one hand, I'm almost embarrassed by the number of Bismarck players that got banned (so far 7 D rings and 20+ relics are gone)

On the other hand, people (read: Lunarians, pretty much the only big HNMLS left) will probably be able to claim HNMs legitimately for the first time in years.

yeah SE said they went over logs alot, People that where caught explaining to others how to do it, where banned, along with people doing it on a regular basis.

Re: Handling Misconduct (Jan. 22) aka Ban hammer!

Dynamis probably not since the drops are zone wide, don't even need to be in the same LS to be able to lot, as long as you're in the zone.

And Omni, there's a difference between doing it once or being a victim a circumstance like the scenario you suggested, and the people who did it CONSTANTLY to dupe pieces to get more complete sets out of the way. They knew what the hell they were doing. No online game is perfect, with all that code out there there's almost always one thing in there that's going to produce an unintended effect, anyone whose done alot of programming can tell you this. Hence why we, as the players, are supposed to report bugs found, not exploit the shit out of them. But no, the people using this salvage exploit must have TOTALLY forgotten about the other exploits like the tav merchant and fishing stuff that happened in this game before that people got punished for after constantly abusing it. Those things never happened .

That's why I have no sympathy for anyone who did it and is bitching their heart out over at BG, arguing that the game is over cause they got banned .
