Yay for events! Love these little things in the game. I'm always up for another inventory -1 trinket. ^.^

At least until SE decides to make it storable (why they always wait for the next version update rather than RIGHT AWAY is beyond me)

Nah, if that was the case they would simply enable it after the event is over, but they don't.
