SE needs to add affordable RRIII items and give RDM RII at lvl 75.

It seems the burden on WHMs from RII-III is too much so SE might as well lower their workload. No?

Because Whm TOTATLLY wouldn't start complaining about losing more job specific spells. But it's ok, they're gonna get en-light in march.

You say that as if WHM getting En-light would be a bad thing. I actually think PLD should get it too while BLM and DRK could get En-dark (RDM would get both).

Also I seriously doubt Reraise III items and RDM (in adition to SCH) being able to RII people would affect WHM much.

meh. I've said for a long time that RDM needs R2.

I don't have an issue with Red Mages getting R2 at 75.It isn't going to take away party invites that White Mages aren't getting. Seriously though, even if RDM has R2 parties are still going to whine and ask WHMs to come give them R3s.

People will always QQ about their lost xp but not bother working on their buffer, instead switch to merit mode the second they ding 75. Not my problem. You want to be 1337 and uber then you'd better make sure you're going to keep those merits you worked so hard on by keeping at least 10k on your job. I don't have any sympathy for you if you decide that one merit point > a buffer.

I've had an ongoing joke in my LS (that only I laugh at) that my buffer exp is a WAR job trait. So I don't mind R1.

ive made this complaint in the pet peeve thread
if you have no buffer and no gil but spend 7 hours before dynamis playing ffxi and gaining MERIT points you have no fucking excuse pleasekillyourself
if you were at work or school and had no time whatever people have real lives too
but if you were playing you can have that r1 and if its not enough to regain 75 maybe that will teach you not to leave it on merit mode 24/7
no point having merits you cant use

Even so, you know there are going to be those people who just NEED a R3 during a wipe because they didn't bother with any sort of buffer ... I had somebody decline a R2 in exactly those circumstances, too.

This shit doesn't fly at all in my ls. You get what you get and you'll like it. It should be that way in every ls. I try to hand out r2's and r3's but sometimes you just have to bit the bullet. In past ls's, I would get /t whining about their buffer to guilt me into doing a r3. So then the ls would have to sit and wait for my recast or mp and waste time in timed events......not good. Or the people who were just blatant and came straight out in ls/pt chat saying that they wanted a r3 and would get indignant if anyone commented about it.

Agreed. I don't have a lot of extra time to play beyond events. When I do play, I am usually in campaign getting buffer. BUFFER NOT MERIT POINTS. It's why my characters are so freakin gimp. I don't want to delvl so I try to keep a 25k buffer on all my jobs. When I get below 20k I don't do anything with extra time but get a buffer. If I'm good on all fronts then by all means I go out and make some gilz or merit.......usually make the gilz.

I feel horrible when somebody delevels in dynamis, (or w/e engame activity we happen to be doing.)

...until they do it every run, 3~4 times a run, for 3 weeks in a row... Decline 3 merit pt invites I offer them to give them a buffer, yet still have the gall to decline my r1 to wait for a r3 instead after a full wipe (true story). Then I stop feeling sorry for them.

Thieves who sac pull a lot are a different story. They died on purpose, for a purpose. Our dynamis puller has openly given up on trying to keep a buffer

Edit: I should mention I have never deleveled during dynamis on any job before, too.

I laugh when people delevel. Especially this one guy I know who is notorious for deleveling out of his relic. I'll still R3 you if you delevel and save the R2 for someone who doesn't mind taking it, usually, but if we're in a hurry well ... tough shit sweetheart, the RDM is Chainspell R1-ing and you're gonna have to deal.

As for the whole buffer/r2/r3 thing, I regularly try to keep at *least* a 10k buffer on my jobs...and despite dying a lot on both jobs, I never delvled out of 75 yet. And on top of that, the rare times I do have the luxury of having a Whm at an event, if I'm not the only one dead or people are still fighting and could use the Whm's attention/MP, I literally tell them to *NOT* cast higher tier raises on me. Instead to save MP and time by casting R1 and get back in there.

But then again, I never gave a rats ass about Exp.

I doubt that's even what this is about, since we were still in the ToAU era when SE said they wanted to add incentives for RDM and WHM to move into the front lines.

Either way, that's not a very good reason to not buff a job.
