In summary: Bitch, piss, moan and cry.

Let's not talk about the new Group 2 merits, Relic, AF+1, new gear, level sync improvements, the treasure caskets, fields of valor and the new missions.

If I wanted bile and cynicism I'd just as soon go over to BG. I'd rather not, thanks.

About the caskets: I partied tonight on weapons in Sauromugue and maybe a dozen or so caskets dropped over a little less than 3 hours. Each one had two items in it. Hi-Potion and Hi-Ether +2/3 were in about 7 chests, mixed in with remedies, echo drops, eye drops, and remedies. We got one chest that had a daedalus wing and an elixir. 3 locked chests dropped but we only guessed one combination correctly. Had a Hi-Potion +2 in it. :p

Combinations work like this: You have a certain number of guesses (4-6?) to guess the correct number from 10 to 99. If you examine the lock it'll give you a "hunch" of what the 2nd digit is (0, 1, or 2). Each time you make a guess it'll give you a hunch of higher or lower. So on the difficulty chests we got you have a 20% chance with pure random guesses but if you're smart and do a binary search of the available numbers you can significantly improve your odds. That is, make your first guess around 50 and zero in on the correct number by cutting your options in half with each guess.

The random curative items seem to do for partying in the original zones what sanction refresh does for ToAU areas by reducing downtime, albiet with a little more randomness and a little more opportunity for player strategy. Or I suppose more opportunity for people to be dicks and ninja all the items for themselves if you want to look at it that way. Overall a pretty fun, neat new aspect to partying. The one drawback seems to be the break in the party flow between pulls when everyone dogpiles on the chest to see what the goodies are.

I think I got a binary search at the airport once.

Anyways found some nice temporary items so far in La Theine, Elixirs and D.Wings all over the place, but no locked ones dropped for me. FoV is decent so far, though them moving the OP guy in Sandy still pisses me off.

The caskets give up some impressive stuff for temporary items, I really wasn't expecting the Wings or even some Elixers. I got several locked ones, most of them gave potions that were crappier than the temp items, but I did get a beetle mask.

Not an amazing find, but gear does show up.

I think its a good addition overall, hopefully they expand on it and add more neat little things to find.

I for one am happy about the leech saliva sell change. Now when I'm trying to gather materials for Blood Broth I don't have to worry about competing with other people to get the drops.

                That's actually a good point.

That particular point may have been less about nerfing a gilmaker and more about getting materials into the hands of jobs that actually need it.

Over various updates, SE has changed things to make the creation of jug pets easier. This aspect could have been meant to do just that.

                  Price nerfs, meh. /shrug

Not to make light of the people who were using those for money. It's happened to me before (see the Guardian Crawler quest nerf) so I can well understand that you're upset, but still, it's not that serious. Blood prices seem to have been cut in half, so you can still use this to make money off of if you really want to. It's not like the prices have been reduced to say, 5 gil each or something like that.

I for one, like the OP warp taru changes. It really did suck to have to run from one end of Port Windurst to the other to use the OP warp system. Yeah it was nice to have it next to the Signet guy, but hey, I can dash into Windurst Woods and pickup Signet quickly anyways, so it's no big deal.

The Jeuno warp to Whitegate has me a bit meh, I'm perfectly content with using the Windurst Woods Whitegate warp person.

I'm sure that the Dancers are well, dancing for joy at the changes to the lvl sync parties.

No more dispelling Reraise nor overwriting of Raise with a higher tier of Raise or Tractor. Now if they want to be Tractored or have a higher level of Raise cast on them they will have to click the No button when it asks them. And then explain why to the rest of the LS as their time in Dynamis or wherever keeps ticking away.

I'm quite liking the update, and I don't see why everyone both here on these forums and in my LS are so upset. Sure MMM would have been fun to have, but IMO it's no reason to log off in disgust proclaiming the entire update to be "fail" just because of one thing.

Personally I'm excited about the FoV thing. I haven't tried it yet but I'm hearing that the Refresh trait lasts for about an hour, which is pretty darn good.

To be quite honest I'm more or less ok with the price drops as far as farming. As was said before, it wasn't a complete nerf, just enough to keep a lot of 'quick profit' seekers at bay. If it does right and effectively kills camps, the dedicated will still make a decent amount of gil/hr in these camps, as opposed to having to fight with everyone else for competition.

To be quite honest empty farming area at half the gil per drop > full gil drops but getting less than half the drops due to competition for claims in my book. I suppose my farming days in Zi'Tah are not as over as I thought they were initially. I'll have to wait and see who bails out on the profit cut.

@.@ yet more pissing and moaning I'm afraid.

And this time it's really justified. According to the Liveblog, the Dev team told people at fan fest they were very sorry about the lack of missions and were going to add a lot more of them in this update.

Oh, that so? Well, I just got my Jeunoan Flag from mission 14 and that seems to be the end of them. If this is the "climax" as they said at fan fest then what the hell?

They're giving us another Zilart? CoP and ToAU were much longer than this.

I love FOV and Treasure Caskets, BUT one thing needs to be clarified. You DO NOT have to be on FOV to get a Casket. and 2 the mob can be Too Weak. I saw a 75BST get one in Qufim earlier.

Did SE fix the lag in Campaign? Campaign are usually unplayable on my laptop due to the lag caused by wireless yet last night i was able to play a campaign with no lag at all despite there being about a hundred people tightly packed into one area.

                              Nope, its a 1/10 chance.

Interesting to note, however, that if you make a selection from the casket and don't take the additional items within, they remain out there for a bit til someone takes the items.

Of course, this sometimes means people will try to ninja loot right after you kill something, but if your way out in a zone, its not common. I dont reccomend chest-hunting right outside of Jeuno, though.

Still, 1/10 would give me tons of caskets if i went apeshit on tons of weak-ass mobs...

Are the potions and stuff RA/EX ?

You can sell those to npcs if not, i believe theyre pretty good money, can make some pretty good money i'd wager
