What Whm and Rdm should get are things that enhance their best attributes as White mages and Red mages.

Are people still doing this?

That whole argument was always bloody silly, and went out the door the day Blue Mage appeared. I bet if a name was all that mattered, Scholar would surprise the hell out of you.

Don't get caught up on a mere title... unless it's Virtuous Saint.

or add 2 more gobbybags so that I CAN ACTUALLY CARRY MY MELEE GEAR.

Or a concerted effort to provide good hybridized gear to the jobs that would use it, far better than the weak attempt that was Wise gear.
Be nice to get some inventory and equipment optimization.

How about giving RDM access to Homam and A- Sword (At least a B+) skill the same as BLU, since the jobs are pretty much opposite sides of the same coin.

EDIT: WHM/BST (or NIN) is an absolute monster to be feared.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, in so many ways. Blue Mages can surpass us in both damage and in healing ability, but just exactly how many utilize the latter? Only thing Red Mages have over Blue Mages anyway is potential tanking ability (all BLU has is Coccoon) . . . I wouldn't start calling them "opposite" in any way shape or form, which would imply a similar relationship as the classical Black Mage to White Mage, but only that they are both magical knights who practice different forms of that style.

And about White Mage, what happened to your gushing about WHM/DNC?

No, you're wrong for going by what a lot of people do instead of what the job is capable of.

Both jobs are designed as fighter mages. Blue mage just happened to get the better end of the Fighter stick.


And why are you brining up WHM/DNC pray tell? For all intents and purposes WHM/BST is the best for farming (assuming there's mobs that are worth charming) not to mention leveling solo assuming your BST is 75 (^^ speaking of which, almost at 56)

Shadows are nice and aspir/drain sambas are nice, but having an EM pet that charms like a too weak (If I understand correctly how charm works) is waaaaay better.

Make sure you can win the fights before worrying about the drops, I'd say. People sometimes farm some fairly high-level things...

The other thing is, Treasure Hunter means jack shit if you can double or even triple your rate of kills.

More chances at getting a drop > slightly higher chances of one item dropping.

Or you could strive for what I'm closing in on; TH4 with a 75 BST sub >:3

All I'm missing is my Assassin's Gloves (they'll be mine soon enough) and Trotter Boots (those, are going to suck balls to get)

I wanted to camp Simurgh right after the maint yesterday but I couldn't convince anyone on my friends list to join me ; ;


He's on my list of NMs I want to camp badly though (right along with King Arthro... almost had that bugger one day >- <)


I've given up on things like Valkurm Emperor, Mee Deggi and Eastern Shadow. If I really want those things I can always farm the money but Stryder Boots and Speed Belt just cost far too much so camping actually makes sense (plus they drop money items >.>)

Because Whm TOTATLLY wouldn't start complaining about losing more job specific spells. But it's ok, they're gonna get en-light in march.

OK, I'll bite: What reason does WHM have to complain about SCH getting Stormsurge, particularly as it buffs a spell line that was exclusive to SCH to start with?
