Well not only that, but I do think that SE has had some dely on fixing some of the jobs. But well I dont see it wrong for me to think that more avatars would be nice.. I never mean that it would solve the summoner

But the same thing could be said for many things in FFXI... (mostly) useless spells, WSs, abilities, etc.

A new avatar bringing new things can still be an addition that doesn't conflict with older content as long as its all situational. Some new and proper buffs or debuffs wouldn't hurt.

It would be an awesome quest.

You are minding your own business killing bombs in Riverne when suddenly "zomg!" you find a Phoenix fragment. Then you speak to the tarus in the Optistery and find out it's remaining power is dissapearing so of course you have to run around Vana collecting fire related items to restore it's power, and then you finally get to summon Phoenix!

I know, I know it sounds really epic, and you could even toss a:

Fight against Tenzen where you pwn him (again) for failing to protect Phoenix in the first place (the moron).

Well the Serpent General quests were pretty epic for fetchquests.

As for avatars, nice to see our SMNs have long-forgotten SE's comments about the future summons. From what I recall, they won't be celestial or terrestrial. Yet, here we are with people getting thier hopes of for just that.

We only know two things about the new avatars;

1) SE has said they will play very differently from the current set as they will only have a handful of pacts.

2) According to the Dev team @ Vanafest, they have already selected them and are having a problem resizing them because they are "too big" >- >


I dunno about you, but Bahamut, Odin and Alexander are all quite huge. All 3 are highly unlikely but it's still fun to dream :3


Besides I'm not buying that whole BS about Bahamut being too important to the story; they said the exact same thing in regards to Diabolos but they gave him to us anyway.

They never said Diabolos was too important to use as a summon, infact from the start he had summoning animations.

I was wondering if they would be more beefed up in the melee/magic department, and therefor have fewer bloodpacts as a balance attempt.

I sure wouldn't mind seeing Quetzalcoatl, but I kinda doubt they'd add him.
