I might just do that, but I will await to see what peoples findings on this leveling thing is first.

I'll probably solo for a week or two first to get back used tot ehg ame and get al my macros set up to my G keys on my G15 etc.

What the fck SE, stop doing all this cool shit. I just quit like a month ago, you're supposed to give me a year or two before I decide to play again.

Additionally, now there's always the option of having one person with a Key in your party to spam the floors with bosses and get the nice little items the bosses drop.

I have a feeling these, plus the Mythic Weapons and Weapon Skills will open the door to a new wave of Nyzul Isle participation.

Off this prediction, I've gotta disagree with TheGrandMom. Let's wait and see what happens.
I hope you are right but from what I've experienced on my server, I don't think so.

Didn't SE already state that you don't have to have the stage 1 mythic to quest the new weaponskills? Its just you need to have the fully upgraded weapon to have the "Aftermath" effect of the weaponskill from the fully upgraded mythic weapon, at least, that's how I remember reading it.

Anyway, the update to Nyzul is exactly what I was wanting to happen to it. Everyone who worked for the progress gets the save data, which is how it always should have been.

As for the EXP adjustment, I don't know if I'm thrilled about that one. If it only applies to PTs of two or more, OK, I'm cool with that. However, if it applies to solo as well, I'll feel a little insulted by it. I've liked that, unlike some MMOs, solo in FFXI has been earned by the player. I think that's how it really should be, i don't think it should be handed to you at level 1.

They say you need the base weapons to get the new WS and boosting exp for EPs and DCs won't suddenly allow everyone and their dog to solo to 75

While I'm probably not as enthusiastic about forcing players to earn solo exp as you are, I do still mostly agree with your notions. I hope they adjust the EP-DC exp for higher levels, like 60+. At 75, there's no reason some jobs should have to break a sweat fighting an EP for all of 22exp. So I welcome the exp change in that aspect. However, I hope they don't just break the EXP-curve and subsequent climb to the top by giving people more incentive to solo their exp than to group for it.

I do indeed like to solo, and would do it more often for exp if it didn't take my DRK 2hrs to make 3-5k exp at 61. Just don't turn the game into a big solo-fest with a little bit of group action sprinkled in for filler.

Then again, this is SE we're discussing...

Well this is nice, I still have BLU, PLD, THF and DNC to level to sub level and now I can really say screw PTs. Just give me Signet and point me in the direction of the nearest pit of EP and DC

As for Nyzul, makes me bitter most of my set moved to Valefor. (I knew they were moving, but it was for HNM stuffs. My major does not permit me to partake in much HNM stuffs)

Re: September Version Update Preview: Part Two (09/03/2008)

Campaign is already pretty much all the incentive lots of us need to solo our way to the top (from around 40 or so). It's about the only thing that convinced me to return this most recent time. I can assure you if it weren't there, I wouldn't have even bothered. And no, I don't Bard-bot. I make myself useful buffing, cure/raising, and throwing around Eclipse Bites.

Working two jobs, and many days 12 hour shifts, I no longer have the time for long term partying, and when I do have the time on a day off, the last thing I want after days in the public is to endure yet more people. I prefer my peace, and I'll welcome any change that lets me continue playing a game I mostly enjoy, without slaving me to the whims of 5 others.

I doubt it would be enough to hurt conventional parties (at least not more so than Campaign already has) for those who want to carry on going that route. I see it at best adding a new avenue for those in a similar boat to my own to level, even when our schedules have become uber-borked.

And yeah, I have to agree that the pain some jobs have at taking EP down for 20-some odd exp is a bit paltry.

At the expense of any and all skill-ups you would receive in that 35 level time period. Campaign is for exp sustenance when party exping is impossible at the current time. SE never intended for CB to replace the normal exping process; simply enhance it.

I'm a summoner, so... yeah. Most of my skill ups come at random. I've not seen any vast improvement in gains from the 'get them from attacking/buffing' update. I mostly still sit around summoning/dismissing.

Though it's easy to cap out by not wearing tags and still going for the mobs. Or the Fortifications. (Unless that was changed, though I still see people doing it if it has been.) Or organizing skill up parties. In fact it's not that hard to stop each level, cap your melee skill, then go back to Campaign. Plenty of creative avenues to be explored. Whether they intend it or not, it's all I've been using and I've gotten more levels in the past two weeks than I did in the last 4 months I was here before I quit.

Seeking + dealing with people + 6+ hours of mashing my cure macro bores me. In Campaign I can get up and wander about when I'm bored. Having to deal with impatient people who hate waiting for mages to get MP is too much of a strain of my frayed nerves and patience.

Hardly matters if you're a mage though. Just hit one or two besieges, and spam tier 1 nukes/enfeebles, or spam cures.

Melee/tank jobs though, yeah those skillups could be a problem.
