Am I the only one disappointed that there was no mention of what the SCH and DNC merits are yet?

A lot of the AN gear is actually pretty decent intermediate gear for those who don't do hardcore endgame stuff. The IR set is great for Plds who can't get anything better then Adaman, the Cobra set is beautiful for Dnc and other light attack jobs and the Att bonus from the 4th set stacks up nicely, and is decent on WS. Plus the Pick and Gaxe are great weapons in their own right, with the 4th Topo being useful until the aformentioned Perdue Axe (which isn't all that super easy to get for many) and the Pick is actually one of the best axes in game.

And on top of that, most Perdue weapons weren't added until the last few updates, which is still a ways off for WotG. Most other ToAU gear outside Perdue stuff does suck far worse then AN gear.

They'll be mining items, equips and dialouge. Why mine Merit lists when you can see them as soon as you log on? (Hell, they'll probably be listed in the update info anyway)

Keep in mind you still need to get to those other areas. One of my mules got WotG access recently. I put her in Windurst because it's the only nation since the last update that's managed to reclaim any outside areas, and thus the only one not under constant siege. I also got her to North Gustaberg [S] and unlocked the Maw there so that in a couple levels I can work on her WHM sub there. I haven't bothered sending her to Sandy yet, but when I do, being able to chocobo there will be a big help. (I do still need to get her a license, but her main's BLM18 so it's not too far off once I get WHM to 10. I've also been applying campaign ops to BLM.)

I recently got leathercraft high enough to make Chocobo gloves, and I regularly race Sandy > Windy for Miratete's memoirs, so I should be able to make that trip. It'll be interesting to see what kind of time I can make through Jugner/Vunkerl and FKN.

From prior update information and interviews, it's looking like this update is going to be one of the most game-changing ones in a long time!

You must've missed the past few update notes, then. Ah, the perils of being late to the party and not catching up...

it could be the end of next week and they give that info out on monday!

Or heck, they give out that info tomorrow and announce that servers will be down for the next 3 days

What was the nature of this new zone rumour? I must have missed it.

The Shadow Region zones are still locked, people are eagerly waiting for Beadicine, Xarc and Zhavl.

And if I said it once, I'll say it a million times. Expect Trolls.

Yeah, I am kinda wondering just how much longer they plan to keep the Northlands locked up, much less a zone that links up to them, such as Ranguemont Pass.

I'm fairly sure there's plenty more to go into the beastmen fortresses for missions, though, so maybe its just not coming yet.
