There are always times when that last member or two you need is either higher or lower in lvl then your party. This system opens up the limit to pretty much be able to include anyone. When you're desperate for invites, I doubt anyone will hesitate to invite that guy who's 5 lvls over your highest. Especially now that special gear isn't needed for being lvl capped.

Good point! Happened to me on one of my lowbie rdms last night. I was in Quifm, turned 23, and a party member had a hissy that I was too high. (The other members were 21.) He was an ls member with 2 other people in the party so I had to leave. Leveling up in the lower levels really sucks nowadays.

There are also those parties where one member dings and the entire group's exp takes a dive, this change will allow that to no longer be an issue.

As I said on my LS forum, this is going to be one of the greatest changes to this game in ages, if not ever. It opens up the game for all newbies to be able to progress far easier then any of us ever could and deals with one of the biggest drawbacks to this game since it's introduction.

This also means that I have no need to quit the game. I can help out my noob friends when I'm not doing Dynamis. No more having him complain about having a bad tank...

OH SHIT. That just means that instead of looking for a tank, he'll call me right up.

Yeah, still won't help whms get party invites, since so many parties have outsourced their healing nowadays.

I'm considering using this feature for skill ups, maybe... :D

Polearm skill 180? Take it to Boyahda? I'd rather just join a level 57ish party and get 5-10 levels on it while getting decent exp. And with the 2 handed changes, I'll have the same acc as dual wielding... and Penta Thrust...

I like the sound of this.

Of course, I couldn't stand to be less than my best for long, so I'd prolly only bust out said weapon for 5-10 minutes at a time and therefore actually level it much slower than normal but that's neither here nor there.

Polearm skill 180? Take it to Boyahda? I'd rather just join a level 57ish party and get 5-10 levels on it while getting decent exp. And with the 2 handed changes, I'll have the same acc as dual wielding... and Penta Thrust...

It might be terrible if the lower level player is the tank. If he or she goes unconscious the effect gets jacked. I guess everything is fine and dandy as long as they don't get ko'ed. (good luck on gob bombs)

For all the benefits of this -- and they've outlined it in a lot of detail, so I don't see how they could screw up -- I can see one drawback: this'd make it even harder for low-level healers to get parties, as it'd be more desirable to have a healer who's already high-enough level to cast Raise if they unsynched. As if PLers didn't make being desirable at low levels hard enough...

That's the only drawback I foresee with things as described, though. This is one radical change I never expected to see, but fits FFXI well. -- Pteryx
