      I know this is all speculation at this point, but from what I understand, party members will be able to uncap themselves with a 30 second cooldown, right? So in that PITA Quiffim camp with the banshee's running around, someone can change back to 75 and take them out, recap down to 20 or whatever, and carry on as normal?

      If this works out this is going to be the best thing that could have ever happened to our LS, half of our members don't have any jobs below 25 anymore...

        Those mobs respawn in like 5 mins. Waste of an unsynch. Only would be applicable if you're trying to run to camp and the banshees are in the way.

        This works though, because No matter where, my noob friend can have either a PLD or a RDM to help out his party.

        And my GS is about 80. It sucks to level. I'd come to a pt Sync'd down, JUST to raise GS. As a 75 PLD, I dare them to complain. >_>

              and item scaling, which allows you to wear items above your cap level but some stats don't work and others are reduced proportional to the cap level / item's level. They work together, obviously - it would be much harder to use level sync if you had to obey the old restrictions on gear under caps - but item scaling would have been useful even if it had been introduced on its own, for things like BCNMs, CoP missions etc
              Ah, I get it now. So yeah, guess it is time to sell off a few of my old polearms then.

              And for the leveling of two handed weapons, /sam and Hasso does help alot if you aren't using it, although it's not going to make you hit 100% of the time either mind you.

              If you do end up getting bothered, then just go /anon thats what it is there for after all, or start filling up your blist.
              Just hitting on this to point out that there has been very little grousing going on in this thread, but also that I can understand why mages would want to go /anon, and why some people don't like to go /anon.

                    Ok, so a little derail time. But when in "Early September" is the update? Only reason i ask is because as far as I can remeber, they usualy let out hints of the update 2-3 times a week, but this update seems to be 2 times a week.

                    So if it's in the 2nd week of september, we could be seeing what...3 more hints as to what is included in the update? The Sync was a pretty big hint to the full extent of the update. I just hope the next 2-3 hints they have include New Avatars, and a bit more job abilities...

                      Nobody said we had to fight Lizards, just like we don't have to fight ghosts, bones, slimes, and other such nasties. If people want to fight something that inflicts a status ailment they can't currently cure, that's their problem.

                      I fail to see how that has any relevance to breaking EXP at lower levels.

                          In addition to what others have said, you can turn your back on the lizard since it's a line of sight attack.

                          The only common exp mob that comes to mind that uses a petrify attack would be Anticans, and I don't think you fight those until what, lvl 48ish?

                            As 30 seconds cool down time for this level sync system, are we sure that after cool down to original levels we would get back 100% HP and 100% MP at original character's level?

                            I remember in Promy, between level 30 cap area and the Boss area, there is a room which the level cap is temporary lifted.... the current HP and MP fill up to 100% of original character's level when the character zone in that area.

                            For example let say the character level-sync -> lower his level and the Max HP adjusted goes from 1000 to 300 (just a random number for this example), when he removed the level-sync and goes back to his original level, his current HP may remain as 300.

                              While Aggressor and melee stats certainly allow me to join skill up parties before "my time", I don't have much sympathy.

                              Something like 9k+ HP in stoneskin before you're toast. And then you can Repose or Sleep when you're low and gtfo.

                              So give and take.

                                Hmmm... As I recall, when zoning from a capped to an un-capped zone, your HP/MP are not refilled, but remain at whatever you were at. So, I would anticipate that un-syncing would not have any effect on current HP/MP.
