No one ever asked for the NMs to be easier, only that they shouldn't take such stupidly long periods of time to defeat.

Rage after 6-8 hours would be pretty good.

    Absolute Virtue uses Super Kamehameha.
Feba takes 1000000 points of damage.
Feba was defeated by Absolute Virtue.

Has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

Which is like saying "nobody asked for the food to be more bland, only that they not use so many spices."

Except a food really can be ruined as much by having too many spices as it can by having too few. Giving a mob every tool in the game with which to beat your ass, without so much as a lead on how to level the playing field, is just as bad as making the mob a sissy-pants whose only challenge offered is who claims him fastest.

It's called finding a happy medium, where everything is juuust right.

Long fight durations do not always mean they are difficult. JoL is not difficult, it's just an annoyingly long fight.

That wasn't the debate. The problem wasn't whether you're IMPROVING the food. It's whether you're making it MORE BLAND. That's the ONLY issue.

No, but long term (especially when you're getting into "dozens of hours" territory) undeniably adds to the complexity and strain of a fight.

                  Re: Regarding Specific Notorious Monsters

Perhaps add a reasonable way to actually discover said strategy to take on the nm? You know, in most JRPGs, there are hints and clues from NPCs about the weaknesses of certain monsters, however vague. It would make it actually make more 'in character' sense for one thing, and be less retarded in general.

Something like 'toss this item at it while two people /dance and then pray to the various gods backwards' is so random and off the wall that you can't even consider that part of the challenge. You'd have to take every fucking item in the game, attempt to use it. Every spell, attempt to use it. Every ability.

Asinine, and not in the least congenial toward my more rp approach to things. Why have NPCs if most of them are good for nothing and tell you absolutely nothing of value?

Even SE gives no hints. And there have been plenty of instances like this with various NMs, recipes, and other things. "Just fuck around until you hit on it randomly kinda like the lottery.lololol"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! LEAVE JOL ALONE!!! It's insanely easy to kill as it is and now they are going to make it easier!?? le sigh...

EDIT: Oh I did the puking thing for KB back in the day. There used to be a hardcore JP ls on our server that got every damn pop. We were camping KB at 3am and I was sicker than a dog. I kept my garbage can at the ready. Last window and I KNEW I had to barf but couldn't leave. So I stuck my head in the garbage can and started puking but still kept mashing my macro. LOL Then I hear my stun go off and I look up to see I got claim. TAKE THAT JP'S! Of course, I was dead about 20 seconds later and back to puking. LOL Ahhhhhh the old days...

Really? I thought the issue was making the fight more enjoyable overall.

If making food more bland makes it taste better, than so be it. If dropping a mob's Def or HP(or fight duration) makes the fight more enjoyable, then so be it.

I don't think they are going to make it easier. Like someone mentioned earlier, they may implement some type of rage timer to control the length of the fight. Also I think this is more of a direct adjustment to the overall JoL/AV fight time than it is a nerf to JoL.

Duration adds difficulty. No matter what you're doing, the longer you have to do it the harder it gets to do. Example, hold your arm out straight with a 5lb weight. Not hard right? Now do it for an hour straight.

Actually the issue was to make the fights not last as long so a few choice words don't cause a mass media frenzy based on false information and create bad PR. Absolute Virtue has been in the game for three years and people regularly would fight him for 20+ hours. But no one ever reported getting sick and passing out. However one fairly small group of people goes 18 against a new mob, and the emotional rollercoaster caused by the fight, not the duration of the fight caused people to get sick and it makes headline news. This change is to prevent people from being in the news again, not to allow joe-schmo average to come to AV and have a grand ol' time.

And as such is why I still hope these mobs remain unbeatable.
