I get about 2-15 files downloaded and it boots me off the server... then we start aaaaaalllll over with the version and file checks, I get another 20 files, and repeat. I wish SE could encode the file check on your computer once you download it the first time, make it some sort of virtual checklist, so if you do get booted mid update, it just jumps right to downloading the next file on the list instead of rechecking everything all over again.
I've been trying to update for the past four hours. I've been kicked off three times now, checking back in once every hour or two; I'm down to about 2000 files to go.
Oh well. At least it's an excuse to play FFXI. I've been playing Mass Effect for the past week.
7 hours to update. Honestly, I see myself saving more time by logging now, and trying back in 5 hours. I'll at least get some sleep out of the scenario.
If we don't like something, collectively, if our hatred for it throbs like an abscess beneath every thread, does that mean that they're doing something right?

As hard as it may be, don't take this game or your characters too seriously. I promise you - the guys that really own your account don't.
Which kinda drivers ? There are new NVidia drivers that specifically state they are made for the game. POL itself I think has to be updated alway via there program and all the download time spoken about should be gone for the most part. No matter if not during big changes SE always has huge updates to a fresh copy of the game, dont think there is anyway around that.
