      I get stuck during the prepare stages. Lame since I was firing up the download when it went live.

      Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

        I'm getting POL-1160s and POL-1161s on one of the systems I'm updating for a friend. Invariably disconnects after the file check is complete, then after many retries starts the whole patch download and file check over again. And no chance of connectivity problems, I'm doing the update remotely, and I'm not getting disconnected from the system.

        I'd say this is going to be another update that keeps us off FFXI for a few days. The system that didn't have disconnect problems has stalled out completely at 30% files downloaded, and the one with the disconnect problems is now stalled out on 5% patch description download. Chances are we won't be able to make any progress until the access contention dies down, which in my experience takes at least 12 hours and in severe situations like this can take more like 60...

          In other words, it may be best to log off and retry this tomorrow? I've made it to 5% this time.. This is actually pretty poor, haven't seen updates this unstable on other games.

            IF your working near your computer then you can just close it down and restart pol. It should pick up where you left off if you made it too the downloading files page. SO far I got to 17% the first time and 23% this time. If not your at the mercy of it shutting down on you and you never knowing.

            Definitely will be one of those updates where we will end up slowly chopping away at it.

              Crashed again. I restarted POL to find it's starting from the start. Think I'll just leave it.

                IT should do step 1 all over again but when step 2 starts you should have less total files to go thru.

                    I don't think I am even going to bother trying for another few hours. Maybe not even until tomorrow. Each attempt so far has resulted in a Network Connection is Busy error. That's boring to sit through over and over again.

                      Yeah I pretty much gave up after the second failed attempt. I might try again later. But its almost become pointless. Way to many files and way to many flooding the servers.

                            You're far more likely to experience the new content light years before I do, so you're welcome to my spot in the download queue (if there was one, which there isn't). But the sentiment remains!
