I like the changes too. Nothing stopping anyone from saying so.

Maybe now the we stand a better chance against those damned Gnoles in La Vaule. Those pricks hit too hard not to have some high-octane backup. Hopefully these physician NPCs don't have the HP of a regular player.

Nah. Like someone else said, players will make NPC healers the top priority unless they have a 'healer's shield' or some other lame crap.

Well, the blurb mentioned something about the Physicians being non-aggressive, unless threatened. It's possible they get some "awesome-AoE-Flawless Victory-Fatality-of-doom" TP move if attacked.

Or there could be a Physician NM that runs around the battlefield spraying instant-cast Curagas. That would be awesome. And it would suck.

Why in the world does this sound incredibly flamboyant? I have nothing against male WHMs, physicians, or running around throwing things all over the place, but the first thing I imagined reading this was completely over the top.

No "concern" to it. I'll just hunt down the beastmen medics and kill those.

Some observations on PLD75 and RDM75 in Campaign Battle:
- PLD/WHM doesn't last as long as RDM/WHM. PLD/DNC is probably better; should level DNC, or at least try /RDM and buy RR scrolls.
- RDM takes forever to kill anything. But, it can usually survive three critters at once for indefinite amount of time, as long as two of them are sleepable. (If there are four critters, though, I'd start kiting instead.)
- I get more exp soloing a critter for 10 (PLD) or 20 (RDM) minutes, than joining everyone else to beat on something for 20 seconds and keep moving on.

If S-E didn't designed this to be soloing content, I'll eat my feathered hat and armored boots; that I'm better off soloing most of the time is pretty strong evidence to me. Not that we can't do Campaign Battles in groups, but the reward is just better for soloing. That random DRK/NIN who jumps in 10 seconds after I grab a critter to "tank" for me? He's not doing me any favor--he's just lowering my exp.

My RDM's "pitiful" damage output earns more exp than blowing a boatload of MP on curing everyone, Convert, MP on curing, and long rest. Same for my PLD, sans Convert and boatload of MP. Even better exp if I'm "tanking", on either job. I do toss out cures and raises to others when I can spare the MP and time, but those are gifts to fellow players--it's not my duty, and not my focus--refilling my exp buffer is my focus.

While WHM is generally for curing people, in Campaign Battle (and on anything which we melee on), my sister's WHM does more damage than my RDM. When we have a LS-and-friends party out there, it actually makes more sense for my RDM to become back line mage and her WHM to DD. (I have done that, though it probably cost me a good amount of exp.)

Regarding RDM vs. multiple mobs, I typically RDM/PLD or RDM/DRK to campaign, I can generally hold 2 mobs without sleeping either, as you said 3-4 if I want to sleep the adds. Strangely enough though, 2 of the largest XP/AN totals I've ever pulled from Campaign battle both came from me casting Diaga on a large group of orcs, then strapping on Terra's/W.Legs/a few other phsyical dmg- pieces and kiting them around the tower as the NPCs picked them off, I've used this twice at Vunkerl Inlet when there were very few people there, and gained nearly 3k points both times, kind of amusing that I got more points for just holding their attention and running than I normally do for fighting upright.

Said about 5 times that White Mage's don't have to do anything. I said it wouldn't kill you to actually be useful and cast 2, 3 maybe even... 4!! o.O Cure's. Since you can, and it would help the Campaign battle.
I don't expect you to know this. I wonder why you guys talk like you know jack about campaign, then say it's every man and woman for themselves.

Where did you get from that I was talking about WHMs having to do anything? Guess you didn't read my other post on this thread.

Holy crap this thread got longer than it should be, lol.

Only comment that kinda irked me, I think it was BBQ's, was saying something along the lines of 'I'm not asking you to be my cure bitch, I'm asking you for an occassional cure yadayada'...here's how that works in Campaign:

A normal melee is whacking away at the mob and pulls hate, gets some stuffing beat out of him. I have 2 choices here--1) let him die, then solo the mob and Raise the melee when I'm done, because I have yet to find an individual non-NM in Campaign that I can't just outright solo. Or I could 2) toss him a Cure IV, so he can keep going. As he keeps going he does more damage, and keeps hate, thus taking even more damage. He's generally taking at least 50 damage a hit, so every 8 swing rounds or so I have to drop another Cure IV. Eventually I run out of MP or he takes a bad WS, and he dies, leaving me to solo the mob...except this time, I have no MP to buff and solo the mob with, because I just wasted it all on the melee. This happens all the fucking time, which is why I quit playing medic in CB.

I fail to see how asking to help cure in moderation is an irksome statement.

Except that a lot of melees - despite what some of you seem to think - actually do sub /DNC and could keep hate and tank just fine. So essentially, I can sit there with Dancer's Roll, Drain Samba II and the Waltzes and keep going and going for a good long while, no unlike a lot of other melees would who sun /DNC.

Those guys aren't "MP sponges" and you have no chance of pulling hate off one after a dozen Curing Waltz IIs and highly damaging WS. They're keeping a good amount of HP, if they're tanking and you toss them a cure periodically they can manage just fine.

Edit: A protip for those who said they were wanting to go RNG/SAM: Find a Sprite on WS > Track it > Take damage > Run to said Sprite > Receive Cure > Win Internet.

That works wonderfully in Vunkerl Inlet and Pashhow Marshlands.

That's it.

They tend to drift rather far out in most other places, I don't find sneak/invising up and running to god-knows-where to get pixie cure when there's mages right there next to me. I've never seen one pixie come near the battles on Saurumongue, Fort Karugo-Narugo, Meriphataud Mountains, there are none in the underground campaign zones.

At any rate, I fail to see how tossing out a cure here and there is "gimping" your EXP gain. If you're tanking the mob as RDM as you claim to be, you should use Cures to your advantage not unlike how a PLD would. So how is curing a melee "gimping" your EXP gain there? You'll take hits for that hate, actually furthering your EXP gain.

Similar to Callisto's "kiting" kiting experience, one of the biggest EXP gains I got from Campaign as a mage was, Gravity, Sleeping and basically whoring out Manifestation and Alacrity as much as possible. Of course when people are clustered around an NM, I tend to find the nearest NPC and launch off a Accession > Rapture > Cure IV.

Needless to say after that you've more or less hit the curing cap and need to cast Gravity before running like hell. This is also why I like my Desert Boots.

That's just it, BBQ. No one is taking issue with throwing out the occasional cure. It's the EXPECTATION that is the key here. Toss out the expectation factor and no one has a problem with it. If I am not in your party, I may or may not toss a cure or raise your way. I don't expect you to tank or DD the mob I'm fighting when I'm not in a party with you, so don't expect me to cure/debuff/buff you.
