I've been out of the loop for a while. Who do you pay 300 to in order to get a WG warp?

      Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

The NPCs in each of the 3 starting nations who give the Lure of the Wildcat quests will, after you complete both Immortal Sentries and their Lure of the Wildcat quest, warp you to Whitegate for 300 gil.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

And yeah, it's about time on the cure freeze. I don't so much care one way or the other about sneak ninjutsu. I'm sure it'll be handy. So much for leveling alchemy on oils when I get there, though.
You can't level alchemy on oils anyway. You need to H.Q. on those to make a profit.

            EDIT:

And about the new warp spell... I am really psyched to see what this is. Even if it's only Warpga, it would save a lot of time in some instances. Just make sure you don't leave someone behind. But what I am really hoping for.... is Warp III. On monsters. Since they don't really have HP they could just... despawn or something?

<Silver Quadav> WTF... that BLM just D3'ed me!

Of course there would have to be restictions, like it doesn't work against NMs, no EXP/drops awarded, or something like that. But it'd be cool.

Wouldn't that just be the spell Death?

If you wanted to get technical then mobs do have Home Points, it's where they spawn. In theory, Warp III (as described above, anyways) would teleport them back to their spawn area, then it'd come gunning for you and link everything on the way back.

Even if the warp were to happen, they would lose aggro as soon as they were warped. Just like Tractor, it would be considered zoning.

Not necessarily - don't some NMs that use Mijin Gakure respawn and still have aggro on you?

They don't actually die, and NMs play by very different rules than regular mobs. When you pull a regular mob out of its normal area, and then it loses aggro, it will despawn and respawn back where it belongs. When you do the same thing with an NM, it will walk back to where it belongs, it does not despawn.

Just curious, how often do updates like these happen?

And I wouldn't be surprised at the summoning a party member idea. WoW actually did a good job with that system. For the thought about summoning people to locked mission areas, Blizzard just made it so that you couldn't summon certain people to certain areas. (For instance, you can't summon someone into an instance they aren't keyed for)

The "Spell Freeze" removal will be quite awesome. It changes the pulling dynamic for mages and bards significantly.

The "warp" spell might be interesting. It could be a past/present warp or perhaps something to make a BLM like a remote Warp Taru. X-Zone, Mhurron?

                          Teleport-Bhaflau, Teleport-Arrapago, Teleport-Mea[S], Teleport-Holla[S], Teleport-Dem[S]?

The increased stratagem usage will significantly increase SCH's power especially in the Accession/Manifestation and Ebullience/Rapture. Right now you can maintain Phalanxga for (I can't remember exactly but I calculated it in another thread) like 30 minutes continuously. Increasing both the max charges and the rate of return will significantly increase the scholar's maximum duration. However, I still hope that some more spells make it into Scholar's repertoire.

FFXI updates do not happen on any regular cycle. I would say every 2 months on average. They release 1 expansion per year and update it 5 times or so each time increasing content and tweaking jobs/crafts/etc.

Larger updates like this generally happen every three months or so.

The Dancer ability timer reduction to 6 seconds makes them truly viable as a main healer and really makes me very very happy for PUP/DNCs. This provided that whatever this "trance" is happens to be the DNC equivalent to Seigan/Hasso and the negative effects don't hinder the Dancer's TP gain.

Trance is their two-hour ability. Lasts one minute.
