* The World Transfer Service will be unavailable starting 30 minutes before the maintenance. Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign will also become unavailable once the maintenance begins. Please wait until after the maintenance is completed before attempting to use these services.

Because they can never get things right and have to have 3 maintenances to fix one problem? Just take it down for 6 hours one day and fucking fix the issues.

Imagine if it was in your prime time nearly every single day (which is what it feels like). That is why we complain.

You know its going to be in SOMEONE's prime time. And according to the login graph that Mhurron posted, they obviously want to affect the least amount of people as possible. Since the game is 24/7 someone somewhere is always gonna be affected.

It just sucks that the least logons are during EU prime time but its no way intended to be out to get you guys as everyone cries about.

Well, the small updates do suck but they're patching as they come up with fixes. If they haven't gotten a fix for something yet, they aren't going to keep EVERYTHING broken until they have fixes for all bugs. Doesn't work that way.

Part of what gets me is that they use that to justify emergency maintenances - waiting up to 6 hours just to hit EU strikes me as stupid.

What what was that? All I heard was a statement that made sense i.e "waiting up to 6 hours just to hit the lowest population time strikes me as good planning."

Maintenance has to happen, it has to happen more frequently after a major change. FFXI is a 24h service, you can not not inconvenience people but you can time it to inconvenience the fewest people.

They're not using the word "emergency" on this one. It's just maintenance. Maybe it's the start of a trend.
