Scholars sounds like it's going to be using consumables like the cards for COR or the ninja tools for NIN.

in the FF3 remake for the DS scholars were also masters of items. they got double potency from healing and attack items. so, i can see them having to use some sort of consumable or even the consumables already in the game. though i imagine that would be expensive.

Dancer will end up subbing NIN or WAR, since they need TP for some (possibly all?) of their abilities.

Scholar will probably end up subbing, WHM, RDM, BRD, or SMN. Looks like a pure support role, with its unique spells/Abilities: inflicting weather effects on PT members, allowing the storage of its JAs, a strong DoT spell, the 2 Grimores, plus their small assortment of white magic and black magic (probably only up to Cure III, Raise, regen I Pro and Shell/ga III and up to Tier III black magic).

So now we have 1 melee/buffer class, 1 very support heavy class. So all hope for a tank class?

Scholar? That was definatley the last thing I was expecting SE to release as a job.

RDM has gotten awfully boring. I hope they can share SOME gear.

I'm tired of being a Pink Mage with near limitless MP. It's gotten to the point that I only do anything as RDM in Dynamis. I can't stand to Merit it as it, and I don't have reason to solo things like I used to, so once SAM hits Lv.75 (30k EXP) I'll Merit as that - may even become my quasi "main job." Sucks that RDM has disappeared.

As far as RDM Vs SCH (???), I don't think RDM is going to lose any invite grounds. Refresh whores or Pink Mage aren't going anywhere Lv.41+.

Personally I don't think I'll even unlock Dancer, and I can't see "sissy" being a tank job either. Scholar may be fun, and I may check it out, as it may be a means for me to not be a WHM, but get a standard party too.

I wonder if they will go with 3 jobs again. 1 job from each nation, but I like the even number of jobs we have right now.

Or samurai depending on what weapons they can use, so far all we've seen though are daggers.

Scholar I was not expecting, but I'm rather excited, it has the potential to be alot of fun.

I'm curious to see how it works as a subjob, if you could use this store job abilities when Scholar is a subjob, it could be pretty powerfull.

Hate a problem during some special event? 3x TA with one Thf/Sch. Wanna mess with my Thf friend's mind? WS, Jump, Jump, Jump, High Jump, Spirit Surge, Jump, High Jump, WS some more somewhere in there, Super Jump, Zaethi: WTF?!

Heh heh heh....

Oh, and mithra in scholar AF is gonna be sweet!

Dancer and Scholar look rather exciting, I think I'll be leveling those once they come out.

Hey, a skilled sissy is a master of aggro and enmity control.

My thought on scholar was maybe they have a 5 minute JA that switches their spell libraries? Hard to imagine a demand for a job that has to choose between being either a gimp white mage or a gimp black mage at any given moment, when rdm had a hard time back in the day being both at once. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

All I know is that we'll officially have a "schoolgirl" AF, and I will be leveling Scholar exclusively to put my Mithra in it. Period.

All I know is that we'll officially have a "schoolgirl" AF, and I will be leveling Scholar exclusively to put my Mithra in it. Period.

From what I can make out of that poorly translated Osaka thing, Scholar will have two modes, White Grimoire and Black Grimoire. My guess is that under Black Grimoire it'll actually be a nuker close to being on par with BLM... but in parties, it'll be nothing but demands for "{White Grimoire} ONRY {Yes, please.}", due to people being unwilling to accept nukers in actual XP parties anymore. It'll live up to only half of its potential because the playerbase is a bunch of closed-minded twits.

That being said, it sounds like an awesome sub for BLM and RDM, and my partner and I will likely level it together. (At least that way I can do all the healing so he can actually nuke.) -- Pteryx
