      Make Dancer female only, exclude the Galka and men.

      In turn, make Bard male only, exclude all Mithra and women.

      If the above suggestion sounds ridiculous, then congratulations.

                  The furniture item Tsahyan Mask gives the name of the Mithran homeland to the south. That's where I got the info from. Incidentally, the far west nation is called Ulbuka, based on this furniture item (another piece indicating a Native American motif), and either the Tsahyan nation is sitting on this continent, or there's an actual (larger) continent next to it called Olzhirya. This is based on this furniture item.

                    Weird, I know there's that post at K.I. but the other forums says it's from a JP game convention... and we all know how dubious K.I. is...

                    I'm still going to retain hope and live inside my bubble. Fuck K.I., that's a bitching map, Vana'diel ftw

                      Well, you have to admit there is something to archaic MMORPG designs that keeps people coming back for more.
                      Geomancer has NEVER been considered a Knight type job. In fact in FFT, Geos could use most swords except Knight Sword type weapons like the Save the Queen and Excalibur. Geo's are more of a mage with a strong physical body as they live and work off the land itself. Instead of learning magic through texts and scrolls, they learned magic from the earth itself by communing with it.

                      Mystic Knights on the other hand use magic to enchant their swords and weapons to create a potent mix of the two forms of combat. They can't directly cast spells onto their foes but instead cast on themselves to increase their offensive powers.

                      Bastok = Germany
                      San d'Oria = Medeval France
                      Windurst = Central Africa
                      Aht Urghan = Middle East
                      Far East = Japan
                      For the most part, this is correct, if not a bit too specific. Sandy is based on Medevil Europe as a whole, France, Spain, England and so forth. That entire time frame and region of the world. Windurst definately seems like Central Africa, with the whole 'Savanah' thing and living near the center of ancient life as we know it (cradle of rebirth is just a stones throw away). But Bastok is nothing like Germany, it's more like North America. Being one of the most technologically advanced, it's history of oppressing, and subsequent uprising of Galka 'workers', it's entirely voluntary military and of course the democratically elected government officials. So far Dancer's Dance names (and maybe the name Zied) are the only real "german-like" things in Bastok's history. And even that is iffy because the entire look and dance style of Dancer is more based on Spanish Flamenco.

                      And the Orcs are Mongolians...god damn mongorians!

                        Ziero: I'm pretty sure there's a lot of other German things in Bastok, like most of the names, but the USA is also heavily influenced by Germany, it's just part of the history, so it kinda blends in. Heck, remember that English is considered a Germanic language.

                          STOP BREAKING MY C*TY WALL!

                          As was said above by Ziero and I, Bastok is really more like the US, save for the fact that it was never a colony of another empire. The Galka are essentially african americans prior to Martin Luther King, Malcom X, etc... the parallels are kinda scary and I'd rather not discuss them for the sake of being polite.

                            If you look at that image carefully, you'll be able to make out how the far western continent looks similar to North America, the southern empire looks like Antarctica..

                            The rest I haven't quite figured out yet though.

                                No offense but I rather not think about Bastok as the US.

                                In fact I rather not think about any nation as anything more than what they are in Vana. Keep your stupid real world out of my game.
