So you'd rather talk about the Dance of Death then?

Oh that's an interesting idea on each city getting it's own job. I would never have thought they would choose Bastok of all the cities for Dancer.

Indeed, it would be a nice twist if Dancer was Female-only and the other job Male-only.

I'm guessing that whatever the other job(s) are, they would have fit in with Bastok even less. Can you imagine Bastok being responsible for Geomancers, for example? "Yah, the planet seriously wants the ever-loving crap mined out of it. We asked." Dancer at least can fit in pretty much anywhere.

I wonder which nation it would be that dealt with time magic... But it would need to fall within the confounds of the history... so one would have to think.

Why would <nation> want to turn back time? What would they hope to accomplish by going back?

I think Sandy would have the most to gain by turning back time. With all that happened during the wars. I mean Windurst had someone defending them during the attack.

Then again, maybe all of the new jobs will be Bastok based.

I was thinking Time Magic is more advanced magicilly stuff and so = Windy and Elemental Magic seems more earthy and/or beginner magicilly stuff and so = Sandy or Basty (But Basty is taken for Dancer)... No?

Both Time Mage and Geomancer seem more suited for Windurst than Sandy IMO.

I think though, that Time Mage (which was confirmed was it not?) may go to Sandy more because of that one quest, forget the name of it. Also it is sticking in my mind that there were some Time Mage/Magic references made in some Sandy NPCs speech/Quest/Other Sandy stuff.

And honestly I'd call Rdm a pseudo Time Mage with Haste/Slow/Gravity/other stuff. Maybe not Gravity, but still, slows down movement so maybe kinda Time Magey related.

Why would <nation> want to turn back time? What would they hope to accomplish by going back?
That big thing in the sky is confirmed to be Atomos right? (Finally! We get to raid the test server!) I'm wondering if the going back in time isn't so much a job, but more of an effect that Atomos has, hasn't he always been the time/space summon?

Clearly, the nation is looking to turn back time so that it can take back those words that hurt us. So we'll stay.

Seeing as all the jobs so far have always been attached to one city or another storywise, this isn't something new. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say Dancer is from Bastok(as stated in the story), Time Mage is from Windurst (home of the most ancient and powerful of magics), and Mystic Knight is from San D'oria (the fabled mix of "magic and blade" that enabled Sandy to rise to near total domination).

If that's the case, it may seem Geo may not appear in this expansion....we'll know for sure in the next few days.

Atomos has usually been affiliated with Time/Space magic. Though his first appearance he was really just kind of a personified black hole. In FFIX, he seemed to do Gravity-based (i.e. Demi) damage. Time Mage seems all but confirmed, but I seriously doubt they'll employ time travel as these "maws" seem to act as gates to the past themselves.

I'm more interested in how the timeline will play out. It would be fun if there was a time loop kinda theme, but I don't think that would work so great within an MMORPG design.

If by "nice" you mean "taking a several steps backward to archaic MMORPG design" then yes, its a "nice" twist.

Someone probably already did this... but the dance names are all German.

Kriegstanz: (krieg = war | tanz = dance) War dance (the s is just in some German words to make them flow more easily.)

Schwerttanz: (schwert means sword) So.. Sword Dance

Gauklertanz: A Gaukler is like a jester. So a clown.. but it refers to one in the middle age's. I.e. king's court. So.. Jester Dance
