The new URL. If they change it again, click on the festival itself on the main page, or the "All Special Events" to get there, and then the link to the guide is at the bottom of the event page.

      Hi guys.

Just a couple of things I am unsure on for this years halloween event.

      1) Can I just confirm that the treats you use for getting a costume to do the event, can only be bought on the AHs around Vana 'diel? I haven't been able to find any NPCs who sell them, so I presume that the AH is the only way.
      Is that correct?
And are they treats like rice cakes and the like too?

      2) There is a moogle stand in North Sandy (near the gate/entrance to Ronfaure) selling Jack O' Lanterns. (I presume there will be others in Bastok and Windy too, but haven't seen them yet) What are these lanterns supposed to do? There's no stats on them or anything. /looks puzzled!

There are NPCs selling treats, like the wandering circus people that stay in the city ranked #1 in conquest, and NPCs in Windurst.

        Jack-o'-Lantern = food.

I'm sorry, but I have not seen any NPC's who look like wandering circus people, as you describe them.
If they are only there at each conquest update, well that's when I am never around to see any.

I've found that I can use the ginger cookies I pull from my xmas hat I won in an xmas event ages ago instead. Either that, or I will try these Jack O Lanterns, now that I know they are food = treats.

Btw - do you have to wait 1 real life day before trying again?
I traded a ginger cookie to one of the costumed NPC's, got my costume (was turned into an orc.... nice, but ugly at that too ) and decided to enter to North sandy from south. But as soon as I got there, my costume disappeared and I returned to my usual mithran self again. So I went back to try and trade a cookie to the NPC again, but it didn't work.

What do I have to do here please?

The circus is in the town that's in 1st place for the entire week. They're in Windurst Woods, Port Bastok, or Southern San d'Oria. This guy here, Valeriano is the one who sells Ginger Cookies. You can also buy Acorn (?) Cookies at one of the shops in Windurst Waters, or Garlic Crackers really, really cheap in Neptune's Spire in Lower Jeuno, either of which will work.

In fact, if you click on the guide I posted earlier, you'll get a list of things that work at the bottom, along with links to the item pages that also tell you where/how to get them. In addition to, you know, a pretty complete guide to the event itself.

You do not have to wait one RL day for any of this. It's one in-game day.
