Yes very they raised money to host their own servers, well it was figured at most if they were getting raped money wise they spent several k on servers, spent 2k on mousepads and teeshirts (as a thank you to people math here is very very off on wiki's part), and there was over 2k missing funds. The whole point of the fund raiser was to keep wiki from companies, well they quickly turn around and sold the site for a large sum of money, i.e. the mods getting paid for a community run site. This all came out most of the endgame community came up in arms now wiki admins are
"planning to give the money back". Thread is over on bg ill get the link for it.

See this is why I don't donate money or pay membership fees for 99.9% of the community run stuff I use.

Only ever donated to Slackware, OpenBSD and NetBSD.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

I've only ever donated to charities or organizations I've previously worked for. (ARC, Fine Arts Fund, local arts organizations, etc.)

Amazing how fast the BG people wanted to burn Ganiman at the stake. Reading FFXIclopedia's forum, it seems like Ganiman has plausible explanations and believable motives (both for first turning down Wikia, and then turning around to accept Wikia's revised offer).

As someone who was active on Allakhazam, then more-or-less left in a fit over the sale to IGE's parent company, I have to admit I was wrong--Allakhazam didn't become a cesspool of RMT advertisement. Although hardly the paradise its admins want to believe, the site is faster--and therefore better--than before the sale.

If moving to Wikia can keep FFXIclopedia's performance up and remove the RMT advertisements, I see no reason to be horribly upset. Heck, Ganiman keep the money (but be labeled as scumbag), for all I care, as long as FFXIclopedia survives intact. Honestly, though, I think he simply forgot about the money already raised when he began to negotiate with Wikia the second time and started to see new possibilities. Those negotiations must have been time consuming and complicated; it's easy to forget a few lose details which didn't get in the way of completing the deals.

If you don't think your credibility would be dragged through mud, you tend not to evaluate things from the "How would doing this or failing to do that appear to the cynical/conspiracy-hobbyist people?" viewpoint.

I'm starting to get pissed that sites that have a good source of collected information are just scams.

That sounds awfully familiar ... Btw Sev, you and Mr. Period need to sit down and sort out your differences.

That cap would look pimp on a taru, I bet. Too bad I probably can't afford the time or money to attend the event.

                              Dearest Taskmage,

Mr. Period and myself are actually quiet friendly. The recent horrid typing, grammar, and punctuation, are nothing more then a simple plan to destroy a common enemy. For quiet sometime now Mr. Period had been taking a little vacation on many post across the various community sites of Final Fantasy Eleven. Then due to this one, dare I say villain, he has started to lose time with his wife and children. Feba the forum grammar Nazi, has destroyed the few moments of free time that Mr. Period had. He came to me due to my lack of care that I must post properly. My posts already made Feba's skin crawl now with his total lack of use in my thread, Mr. Period 's plan to slowly kill him off was set into action. So I hope you now have a better understanding of why the posts may always come off with bad grammar and punctuation, tho I do tend to fail at spelling a bit.
