There's also more possiblities to this than just lowering Scythe delays. They could do something like have a grip that adds RAcc, making it feasible for a RNG or COR to use Fire Staff and /SAM for Hasso. Or even add trait bonuses like Double Attack or Zanshin enhancements. They've opened up a way to do a whole hell of a lot for many jobs with this, I'm interested to see what they make of it.

I think MNKs are still trying to get their head around what happened to pDif, and why they can't seem to get up to 2.4 pDif against TW mobs.

Someone suggested that changes were made to Howling Fist and Dragon Kick because those are the two highest WSs that PUPs have access to, and part of the update was giving PUPs some kind of power increase.

DRKs aren't too far off. They already drew as much hate as Mnks if played to their fullest (this is especially true pre-merit era where there's a reason for Abs spells) from their huge hate spells and JAs -- their incredibly potent per-swing damage didn't help the situation. I imagine DRKs will be the new MNKs? subbing NIN for defense instead of damage?

The /translate function is great, it's a shame you can't translate whatever you like but I guess you'd get complete idiots translating garbage and translations would most likely not be accurate

the thing about drk is that it has to use /ja's and ws to draw hate.

mnk get hate from just auto-attacking.

i do agree that mnk is pretty damn powerful, perhaps the reason why they havent gotten any updates in quite some time. id hate to see SE take that away from us because thats all we are good at though. just smashing things.

i dont see drk needing to sub nin to save their hides if played properly. of course u can have ur run of the mill nub who spams crap for no reason and thinks its cool to pull hate off a tank. but then again, why would u consciously decide to be an idiot?

The /translate function does require you to be able to correctly spell/type it in English in the first place, so it's going to be largely unusable for the majority of players. >.>

Sorry to sound so abrasive, but this update has only helped a small portion of the community and hasn't changed the perceptions of the elitists. My friend has endgame NIN MNK BRD and is lingering on 68 WAR, and according to him, it's /NIN or nothing.
He's saying how the update won't help DRGs and DRKs break into the "top tier" of DD which allegedly is NIN MNK/NIN WAR/NIN and to some extent SAM. According to him.
He's a good guy, he just pisses me off sometimes.
So nerf the god damn MNKs. -_-

every 2hander just got handed a juggernaut's worth of free attack. naked

every 2handers just got handed a relic and a PCC worth of free accuracy naked

every drk/drg/sam's rajas ring now reads: attack+5 accuracy+5 dex+5 str+5 store tp+5 subtle blow+5

dragoon's have blade:jin (skewer) on a 93 damage weapon with a 25% damage bonus to most of the mobs we merit on.

But without that status, what does MNK have left? They can't Stun HNMs. They can't emergency heal with Healing Breath. They just punch stuff.

Finally. I never understood why a dagger can inflict bigger damage on xp mobs rather than a polearm anyway....

Because SA and TA add dex and agi to your weapons base damage or something of the sort-don't really get the math of this game but im sure armando can clear it up.

This update was a bit overdone-thf can't even shine for big number WSs anymore, keep seeing drgs doing 2.5k to greater colibris and sams spamming 800 with soboro. This may not last, it's too overblown. DEX = Acc = h4x 15 acc from a haidate, 18 from a haubergeon+1 etc
