Same reason they probally don't have an A+ in sword/dagger or higher than d for shield. Balance issues. Red Mage as they stand are supposively jack of all trades. I said Duelists simply because of the relic names. That and their sword access are more rapier class, kind you expect for dueling and fencing. (Btw if you haven't tried, fencing at rennissance fairs are fun).

Only reason why I mention a +1 to jobs, was just throwing something out and someone could work it into a better idea. That and the fact the relic armor would be used in the time of WoTG, if our assumptions is correct, so I figured thats what the jobs would probally be called back then. For the +1 versions, I was thinking more of the lines they don't get the majority or key abilities, traits or spells from the jobs as we know it, but get more focused, one way abilities that really shine 40 and up.

Blue Mages by far I've only seen them done 2 out of the 3 roles we gave them. Healer and DD. Mostly DD but plenty are willing to play healer and even said so in their /seacoms. I'm considering to play blu/war to 75 as a tank role completely on my mithra, but not entirely sure if I'm gonna.

Corsairs, there is like no corsairs during NA peek ours or very little during JP hours. So I don't really know much beside the one from my former static group. And the Gallent Role i believe it helps generate hate, though it just uses the blaze spikes animation and can only go off if damage is taken. Blue Mage role for magic defense can be life saving at times, espically to help barfira against bomb tosses @_@;. Monk's role Subtle Blow would greatly help in DDing quick tp gainers imho. Less tp, less ws right? And after 3 hours of failing Diabolos prime, I'd love to have that role right now >_> damn Nightmare spammer..............

Puppet Master. The automation is great at dding, not much else I know, less pups than cors and bards I'll say that much.

    Wouldn't mind seeing if they can work a new weapon class in, maybe, gunbaldes open to drk, rng, cor, thf and war? Idk, throwing something out again @_@;

This is why it's dumb to make a thread about WotG without any news.

Only after a few pages of on-topic goodness. Now imagine how weird it is to be looking through a thread with 4+ page of off-topic chatter before you hit the real OP.

              Bluemage?

Seriously, why does a job need to fit a brand new *roll* to be played? Not one job in this game has a unique and irreplacable roll. *Every* job can be replaced by a different job as is already, I don't see that as a reason to not add new ones. If they add another Tank job, it doesn't mean Nins and Plds will never be used, it means there *will be a new tank job*. And though this game doesn't 'need' a new melee DD job it would still be nice to *have the option* of playing a new Melee DD job. Remember folks, we didn't 'need' Sam or Drg either.

People will play any and every new job that gets added, whether it's 'good' to the majority or not. Look at Pup. It has less to do with the function of a job and more to do with the image and play style of the job. That's the reason why some people choose Whm over Rdm, despite both being great healing and support, or choose Mnk over Drk, despite both being straight up melee DDs. There is *no* reason to not add new jobs, none, not one. Balance issues already and will always exist, the amount of jobs do not need to match the amount of pt members in an alliance, the same role can be filled by more then one job. It would be completely idiotic for SE to completely ignore one of this games best and brightest features, that being the ability to play any and *every* possible job on one character at any time. New jobs = new content and everyone should want new content.

Also, as pointed out before, this entire topic is sorta off topic as nothing posted here is actually 'news' >_>

I was all freaking excited this morning, and thought there was new expansion info since there were so many replies. And then there's more job arguing. Anyone know when we'll get some real info about the expansion? I thought it was last night, but it's later?

Yeah, but new content does not equal new jobs. There's tons they can add in without throwing yet more jobs into the mix. We are having enough problems with balance as it is, why complicate it further with more possibly redundant classes?

                      First thing.

                      Role.

                      I'm just saying.

As I said earlier. Adding new tank and healing jobs doesn't mean that more people are going to be playing tank and healing jobs. It just means that there will be more diversity in the tank and healing jobs that are currently seeking. Someone who loves playing the role of a DD isn't going to suddenly change into a die-hard healer. Someone who wants to put out WTFPWN numbers isn't going to want to tank out of the blue. Someone who enjoys beating the mob to a pulp isn't going to decide that today's the day to try a support class.

People will play new jobs when they are first released. For a few shining weeks, the newbie zones will be full of players grinding through the levels on new jobs as fast as they can. And then it will die down, and only the people genuinely interested in the new jobs will continue to play them. Everyone else will go back to whatever they were doing beforehand.

Of course, just the fact that you actually suggested that another DD job would be a perfectly reasonably idea shows me that you're just kind of making things up as you go, with no real basis in reality.

Never said they had to add new jobs this expansion, I am saying they *will* add new jobs in the future though. Balance issues will *always* exist, they existed during RoZ and they existed during ToAU. They still added new jobs. There is no reason to let something that can *never* be fully fixed prevent SE from adding new content that focuses on one of this games biggest strengths. And seeing as every job will either be a Tank, DD, Support, or hybrid combination of those three jobs, everything they can, will or hell even already added can be seen as 'redundent'. The roll does not determine a jobs popularity in terms of how many people play it, the jobs image and play style do. That's why Brd, a wildly popular job to *have* in a group, is less common to see then War, a job that fills the same roll that *many* other jobs can do.

SE will add lots of new content in this and future expansions and new jobs will eventually be among that new content sooner or later.

Yeah sorry about that, simple oversight. Third time was the charm apparently though.

Not arguing that. In fact what you just described sounds like how players treat *all* new content in this game. There's a big rush to try it when it's first added, and those who actually like the new content will stick with it. So really, I see no downside to this. I mean, adding a new option to the game is bad how exactly?

Of course, just the fact that you actually suggested that another DD job would be a perfectly reasonably idea shows me that you're just kind of making things up as you go, with no real basis in reality.
...what? There are *lots* of players who like to focus on melee DD jobs, how is adding another option for them bad? I mean, Blue is used as a melee DD and that job seems to be fairly popular. How was adding it bad again? Seriously, *options are a good thing*. They do not take away from anything, only add to it. If you do not like a job do not play it and do not invite it to your parties. 'Oh noes, the game is imbalanced!' is not a reason to completely ignore one of the games biggest features. Adding *any* new job, correctly, is good because it provides more options to the players and is bad because....?

So adding new jobs with no rhyme or reason is a good thing, because new content is good, regardless of quality? People like new things! Old things bad!

ya know, you could give SE some credit. Just because people want new jobs doesn't mean SE will throw them crap just for the sake of throwing them crap. They haven't done that yet...with the exception of Choco racing which was rushed due to public outcry anyway and is far from complete...so why is it ok to assume they would start now?

*When*, not if, SE adds new jobs, they will be well thought out and 'unique' in their execution, just like the last seven new jobs they've added over the years. And other then some people saying 'there's enough jobs' no one has ever given any real reason for SE to not add any more jobs. In fact everything people are saying now is the same stuff they said before ToAU was released...and that didn't stop SE from adding three unique and interesting jobs into the game.

Ok, we get it, some people don't like the idea of new jobs. But SE obviously doesn't feel that way.

I'm surprised there's no discussion of them adding a new race. I know it doesn't really fit with the lore of this expansion, but I'd still kind of like to see one or two.

Edit: And as for the class discussion, why not have a dedicated CC class? A Time Mage, perhaps? And no one's brought up the use of a Temple Knight...that could be a fun/new take on things.
